Yes, my experience also is very slow Evernote when I choose the new Files menu. Just trying again today, still after 30 minutes it still loading...

Additional keystrokes, complete different "workflow". WHY??? I was fine with legacy version. But They forced me to everything new. As extension, increasing price 2x times...

The idea is you can repeat searching this way. I have often a situation where I want to find notes using the same search. In these cases it is useful. Where it is helpful as well is when you switch between searching FOR a note, and the searching IN the note. The In-Note-Search field is already populated with the note search content. I don’t need to type anything again.

I have yet one complain (reported here on EN forum many times). When you try to use keyboard shortcuts to search. Every time I press my shortcut, I expect the search box to be cleared. But not in new EN. This is the only program I know where I have to manually clear the search box before making a new search... This is the most annoying me behavior of this application. It is completely different of anything I have seen ever. Reported officially, I am trying to find ticket number for it.

By accident I found a neat use for it: I clipped a website to a Free test account I sometimes use. It had only this single note, so all files listed were from that clip. You would expect maybe a handful of files from that web clip. But no, there were nearly 40 files listed ! All these tracking pixels used for tracking users against their will and without consent showed up in the files list - nearly all files could not be shown, because they were a picture file with a single, white pixel. They are just used for tracking purposes - when they are downloaded, the tracker knows somebody (with all the data transferred it is a pretty individual "somebody") just opened that page.

Wow that worked sweet! Ok do you got a solution to switch the searching with OCR so it can resemble Evernote legendary edition? I feel like this does not find things as easy and nicely as legendary did. keep in mind im purely searching scanned pdfs and nothing else.

All you notes remain intact when you are on "Free", you just cannot create new notes. As soon as you are subscribed again, you will be able to add notes again.

As was stated here many many times: "many users, many workflows, many user causes". Which is good for one, isn't good for other. For me it is step back in compare of legacy version. If They want to extend functionality why They don't provide an option to switch this behavior "new" and "old" ?

The table of contents links don't work in the exported html edit: They don't work in the exported pdf either

Ok, that sounds good but just one question. The free version limits you to one notebook and 50 notes. So will all my notebooks and notes remain intact after downgrading and then upgrading again? Thanks!

The current behaviour allows you to build up a search so for me not automatically clearing the search bar is essential. When you open the the search bar the insertion point is positioned at the end of the existing text (to allow further search terms to be added). shift+Home highlights the text and then you can just type your new search term in. An alternative to this approach is to clear the search by going to Home (Alt+ctrl+1) before opening the search bar (alt+ctrl+F)

My personal view is that this Files feature is a solution seeking a problem.

I have already uninstalled and reinstalled it, and that has slightly improved the speed unless you select the "Files" section when the whole thing comes to a standstill for quite a while. I can't appreciate the advantage of this as I have thousands of files embedded in notes, which I can find easily by searching. Plus, only PDFs and Image files work in the Files section; however, all my embedded notes open correctly in their native Programme.

It depends on how you subscribed. If directly through EN, go to your account settings (Payments, Billing, no idea what it’s called in English), down the page and cancel your subscription. Then wait until it downgrades. Then subscribe again choosing a yearly plan.

You don’t specify WHICH behavior you mean. For any behavior the app offers when searching, the thread holds solutions. Among a lot of valuable posts maybe read this one:

Sorry for that for you. I was referring just to the Files pull out that is slow. I haven't experienced any slowness in Evernote generally. My first response would be to uninstall with Revo Uninstaller and then reinstall. The freezing you describe feels like some corruption.

Let the subscription expire. Once on Free, choose the appropriate plan and subscribe again.

I recently switched from annual to monthly billing quite easily. But on second thought I decided on annual billing after all but cannot find an option to do so. The only option given is to upgrade to Premium. I need to do this before I’m billed next week. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Am I missing something? The only way I can see of making a table of contents is to manually retype (or copy and paste) each heading Manually copy the link from each heading Turn (1) into a clickable link (highlight and paste the link) UPDATE: If you use the title view for links you cannot even change the name - they all have the name of the note itself.
