  3. This is long long long overdue. If there is a work around or a way to do this I would love to hear it because I've been pretty frustrated without this feature that is standard in much weaker software. But all in all, I'm very happy with Evernote.
  4. No this is not. Evernote should have it's own Paste and Match Style, if even only for the premier users. Using an intermediate program isn't a great solution especially for a piece of software that does what Evernote is designed to do.
  5. Well, the watch is too weak on processor and memory to host a full version. But I think if the watch app would be reduced to just quickly taking new small notes, it could work on the watch stand alone. The trick would be to reduce the EN watch app to the bare core of what it should do on the watch, vs. what a full iOS app should do.
  6. When you go to the top of the document, and you see what I have encircled in the picture, it is a file of its own. If not, it may be just a link. The file shown in my example was clipped by the web clippers pdf clipping function, so it still shows the link it was taken from (www.ipv.de). But it is a file attachment.
  7. This is an example of a file I have clipped as a pdf with the web clipper, is this counting as an attachment, or is this connected to the original link? I highlighted the link in yellow. And thank you Dave for the welcome and good suggestion. I will ask the IT department right when they open tomorrow!
  8. Yes, thank you, PinkElephant, for your help and for your anecdotes!
  9. I agree, but I suspect it is the complexity of having a "standalone" version of Evernote on the watch vs a companion app that communicates with the app on the phone, which does most of the heavy lifting and sends/receives the data the watch needs.
  10. You may have heard about the horse that starved to death between two haystacks, because it could not decide which to attack first. In one of my former lifes I went through officers training at the German army. I learned one thing there: Better a wrong decision than no decision ! So in case, grab a coin, assign each option to one of the coin’s faces, and up it goes. Spoiler: After you have with full respect to the way of fate seen the outcome, you can still decide to switch to the alternative. But not to flip it again ! Luckyly it is easy in EN to swap between notebook and tag focus: You can assign a special tag to a number of notes, select them all and move them into a new notebook. Or you can tag all notes in a notebook with a new tag, move them elsewhere and delete the notebook. If on a desktop client that allows for multiple note operation, it is done in a matter of minutes.
  11. @Shane D. Maybe this thread could be taken as a starter to better describe the way in which E-Mails are processed. Questions I have, and could not answer: - Is there an Internal Mailserver, that catches all the incoming Mails and convert them into a format that can be integrated as a note. Or is the conversion done on the EN server itself ? - Are there mail formats (like HTML) that can cause problems in the conversion ? Is there content like larger pictures, Hyperlinks, code or attachments that can cause import problems ? Any other known issues, like special fonts ? - Is there a sort of filter (like a Spam or DDOS-Filter) that may cause mails to vanish or be delayed ? - Is there any Ressource to track down if a mail does not arrive ? Can a user watch a log file that shows any issues on mail import ? etc. Maybe this could be done as a support document or a white paper.
  12. Thank you, DTLow and PinkElephant. DTLow, thanks for the link. I'm at 14,400, and contemplating severely reducing the number of notebooks I have -- perhaps even down to one. PinkElephant.... thanks for the thoughts about good practice. I go back and forth on the notebooks-vs-tags debate. But then again, I once took an online personality quiz and when I got to the question "Are you decisive?" I stared at the question for at least a full two minutes, unable to decide how to answer. Haha!
  13. Yes, would be nice. But I think this may be restricted by watchOS or iOS. For quick catching of ideas I have the app JustPressRecord on my iOS-devices and on my watch. The advantage is that it can catch an audio and convert it into text, and keep both of them. There it works the same: You can grab on the watch alone, but to Sync it up and share it into other apps, the transfer to the iPhone is needed. So let us hope that Apple will move ahead with converting the watch into a stand alone device.
  14. There are several capabilities EN borrows from the OS side. This is one of the reasons why many users have the feeling that the clients are not consistent. One is that a client for iOS may have capabilities others don’t have - because it is donated by the OS. The other is that similar functions may work differently in different operating systems. Sketching is one of them, another is speech to text conversion.
  15. No, there is no limit on the number of notes per notebook. The limitations are (depending on the plan I am in) the maximum size of the Note, and the Upload in general. Good practice is to use only a reduced number of notebooks, and a higher number of tags for the logical organisation. This stands as well for the number of notes not being restricted,
  16. Evernote limits are documented here https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/209005247-Evernote-system-limits No limit on notes per notebook I roll with a basically single notebook; 15k+ Notesj
  17. I have not been able to find an answer to this question: is there a limit to the number of notes I can have in one notebook? Are there other restrictions pertaining to notebooks? Thank you!
  18. Wow. Thanks so much. I wonder how long this has been available and I just didn't know it. I'm embarrassed!
  19. Is this the same as I was just looking myself.
  20. I agree. Updating directly via the Internet is probably the way to go. Untether the iPhone!
  21. 이거 문제인데... 2016년부터 있던 문제를 2020년대에 제가 겪고 있네요 ;;; 참...
  22. I added a link for Android https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/208314548-How-to-add-handwriting-to-notes-on-Android-devices I'm guessing it works the same Note; this is not core Evernote I'ts a supplementary function that inserts an attachment into the note; something like an image
  23. I sometimes have forwarded emails that take hours or days to show up in Evernote, or never get there at all. It's very frustrating, and AFAICT completely random. Most go right through.
  24. Super cool, @DTLow. I'd have to assume that this uses capabilities of iOS that are not available on other platforms. But it would be great if it could become possible in Windows, Android, and the Web client too.
  25. Thanks for the link. Not sure why command ' doesn't work for me
