  2. Why should I pay for subscription for a broken app without any available support? support ticket I just created after getting annual subscription email. I don't understand how a business can operate this way. "I have submitted several support tickets for very significant items such as missing attachments ('Untitled Attachments') and failed ENEX exports that have either not been answered at all or not addressed the problem. And on top of that there are plentiful other problems with V10 that you seem to be completely ignoring. So why should I pay an increased annual subscription price to a company that offers their clients service like that? I hereby announce that any future charges by Evernote or Bending Spoons to my credit card are unauthorised. In order to retain me as a client I require rectification of the two main issues I have described above in order to regain my trust of your app with my valuable data."
  3. Not sure what that user's issue is with the web clipper, but my favorite web clipper feature broke about three weeks ago, and while I notified support they still haven't responded more than 17 days later... It's clearly not getting as much attention as it used to, which is fine when everything's working, but annoying when something breaks and it takes a long time to fix.
  4. Fixing the line spacing, or fixing the desire for a stable channel of releases for professional use of a stable PKM Evernote not surprising us many, many times with showstoppers of big consequence in our workflows? Both/either is appreciated! ♥️ I ask this because the thread is about line spacing, the posts above yours about stability/predictability/reliability.
  5. The difference is there's a software design convention that Evernote violates, and it just so happens to benefit you. Congratulations, I guess, but that's not a great reason to keep doing it, is it? Also, they are probably violating the convention accidentally, because of the way the desktop app is developed (i.e. with Electron*). If they used native operating system APIs, the "highlight search term" feature would happen by default as it's a built-in function in Windows and Mac. Which is why it worked that way in Evernote legacy and why it works that way in just about every other application... *Note: to be clear, there's no reason it can't work that way in Electron apps, I'm looking at two Electron apps right now which do it. It just so happens that the developers have to be thoughtful about implementing the feature as it doesn't happen by default, unlike with native apps.

  7. EN 10.86.2 added an extra Evernote calendar - but what is it used for? Or is it a bug?
  8. On the web the only export works note by note. The only alternative to a desktop client is the GitHub project already mentioned. It can be installed on any device, even on computers not able to run a desktop client. You can install (if you know how) in a Docker on a server and run automated backups.
  9. Good luck to you. Just to correct a statement: The Web Clipper not long ago got a nice multiple selection tool that allows to clip only the sections from a site you need. Beside this the Web Clipper doesn’t get much attention in the forum. It seems most users are happy with it as it is.
  10. This is the Android forum. You can’t <ctrl - F> on mobile … Searching FOR a note is not the same as searching IN a note. For me in more than 9 out of 10 searches it is sufficient to find the right note. And when I open a note, I don’t need a search dialogue getting in my way. When I need the in-note search, and call it up, it will already be populated with the search-for-note string. Nothing lost here.
  11. Can you not install a Desktop client somewhere? That would be the easiest way. There are other 3rd party products (some free, some not) that can also export them. Here is a free one that I see mentioned quite often that several people on the forums use: https://pypi.org/project/evernote-backup/ -- but it's pretty technically involved. You have to install this on your local computer and run some commands and it will login to Evernote's servers using your user ID and password and it will download your Evernote data to your machine into ENEX format.
  12. I think I may have found what you saw, but you have to open the note and then ctrl-f to bring up that dialogue. It should do that immediately upon opening the note - what else is there to do? Why have to do the ctrl-F again?
  13. I use the web version. So, there is no way to export my notes out of Evernote?
  14. I am on 10.85.4. and it doesn't have the box you show in your reply. Is there something you have to do to turn it on?
  15. I was hoping with all the updates this problem would disappear. The ability to group and view tagged notes on the fly via the mobile app is very important but this issue makes that impossible. The link below shows my problem using the PC to create/edit tags and the Android mobile version to utilise those chages on the go. https://www.evernote.com/shard/s2/sh/cb3ab017-d1fb-7891-7851-2db9fc428694/Nx8q6DgiB8iskusciOVPOj-E1-qQT3FYjDRr8j2MDYnRhZkUuNCQ8lL5IQ Any sugestions?
  16. The new huge extra bottom padding in notes window seems also affect image annotation tool, and messes up how it works. 😒
  17. I am just writing to say farewell to all those I have interacted with here over the last 8 years. I just found out my Evernote Personal will be renewing in May for $114 a year, after going from $45 to $64 last year. That's a 253% increase in 2 years, 78% increase this year. The trend is scary, I can't afford the product any more. Plus I don't feel like I have been on the same page as Evernote for awhile - new features are not very interesting to me, yet Web Clipper which I used a lot has been ignored for quite some time. I have unfortunately gotten very used to web clipping manually, which I will continue to do. It's a good move for Evernote - with a 78% increase in subscription this year, they could lose 40% of their users at this level and still grow revenue. So I respect that they have to do what they think they have to do to stay in business. I have exported everything, 25000 notes, into Apple Notes. The Evernote_backup tool worked great for me. Farewell, and good luck with your endeavors. And thank you to those who answered my questions over the years.
  18. Glad it was helpful. Just as a reminder to all who are missing the former functionality in the Windows app: this was not Evernote's doing; Microsoft apparently decided that in Windows 11 the system alone should be allowed to do screen grabs; or at least that Evernote should not be allowed to do so.
  19. This has been happening to me as well over the past couple of days, perhaps around the time I updated to 10.85.4 (Windows desktop). Spinning circles that never resolve, even though the image appeared when I first added it. I had to resort to recreating the note in a different app in case these images don't reappear, as I will definitely need them in the near future.
  20. A notebook doesn’t „exist“ as a note does. Think of a note a a website - each has it’s own URL, used for linking. A notebook is just an entry in a database table, and has no URL. A common way to link to a notebook is to create a note holding a TOC for a notebook. Link this note if you want to go to the notebook.
  21. EN 10.86.2 update today. Seems that shortcut widget bug is finally fixed 😮🙂 (It took "only" 2 months 😐)
  22. It would be nice to be able to set size and color as a preferred default instead of having to reset them every time I use the Sketch mode in a note.
  23. Nope - I'm with the 'other' 50% who don't got this yet...
  24. Seems like an update issue - try a clean reinstall? (Short version) Sign out of Evernote / don't save your data locally / use Revo Uninstaller Free (Win) or Appcleaner (Mac) to uninstall the app. Power off and back on, then re-download and reinstall and leave Evernote running to rebuild the local data files and indexes. It's usable but initially a little slow - things get better after a few days. More detailed description _ To fix occasional errors with installs or updates on laptops or desktops - plus issues with speed or lag or corrupted data. 1 - Make sure your notes are synced up to date (check the web client or another device) 2 - Exit Evernote (if you can) / delete data from device 3 - Uninstall app with Appcleaner (Mac) or Revo Uninstaller Free (Win) 4 - Power device off / allow 10 seconds / power back on 5 - Download latest Evernote from Evernote.com 6 - Reinstall. It will take a little while for the app to be fully operational If that hasn't fixed it, check your local housekeeping - how much free storage space? What other processes are active? Do you have good network speed?
  25. Which is the same number of key strokes as my suggestion of end then space. I don't normally add to a search term in other programs. The building up of searches using the advanced search syntax in EN is one of its strengths. It's difficult to incorporate all three scenarios we have discussed without somebody having to hit some extra keys. Currently you are doing the extra and I'm not - I'm sure if it was the other way around I would feel the same!
