  1. Past hour
  2. I don't know what you are seeing, but I am seeing this on a Pixel 7XL and it is entirely uselss to me. I want to find myself exactly where I was when I last closed the app.
  3. I just stopped it: 6 seconds for 8700 files - every time I enter the files section.
  4. I have the same problem, the number of files at the top is probably ok (10840), but the actual files list only shows about 50, I can't scroll further through the other 10800 files
  5. Today
  6. Sorry, I am running Windows 11 Home Edition and have Evernote version 10.82.2
  7. @Colinz No offense intended. It is simply a fact, and wrapping it into some marketing speech doesn’t make it different: The „old“ EN is dead. There were probably users who just wanted a simple note app, with good syncing, OCR and search. History showed this user segment didn’t carry the business model - EN was even not profitable when they just maintained the legacy clients, without any progress. Instead they build up technical debt. So the owners decided to sell. If the new owners would do more of the same, they would get more of the same. So they decided to take the service (and it’s users) to new areas of uses. We all need to watch where this course will take us. We are committing with a yearly subscription, and can renew or skip when it becomes due. We assign a finite amount of money, and that keeps us covered. And when it becomes due again it’s decision time. That’s all.
  8. That's because Bear is only a markdown editor. Markdown editing is much more basic than the rich editor features that we get with Evernote. Why should Evernote dumb down their editor to markdown? (Saying this as somebody migrating to Obsidian.) Or why should Evernote have to support two different kinds of editors? More markdown-like shortcuts could maybe be nice, but we already have most (if not all) of the common ones. This is one of the few requests in this thread that makes sense IMO. Importing a markdown file (which is nice and is coming soon) is close, but not the same thing. Native exporting to markdown would also be nice, but there are tools like YARLE that can already do it.
  9. This has been an ongoing problem. Sometimes copy and paste works with images. Sometimes it doesn't. I'm on a Mac desktop. What works for me is to download the image that is not rendering and convert it from PNG to JPG or vice versa, the upload it back into the note. So far this works every time. Super pain in the neck though.
  10. I think maybe not forgotten, but instead rolling out gradually. If that is the case, they should put words to that effect in the fix list.
  11. For better or for worse I think the rate hike is due to it being, arguably, underpriced for several years, but also that it is being positioned as a premium app. They don’t appear to want to compete in the low end market. We all have to go through the decision on whether it is worth it to us or not. There are several low cost or even free apps out there that may fit your use case better. Personally, I struggled with the increased cost as well but decided to sign up for another year to see what develops. I’m feeling better about the decision now that several long overdue features that I have wanted are being added. I’ll feel great about the decision when they start tackling the bugs better and get their support system under control.
  12. I have also wasted so much time trying to log out/ind, removing, cleaning, reinstalling Evernote... to just find out that they forgot to activate a new announced function 😒
  13. Thank you all for explaining why there's a 50% hike in the renewal as the team continue to develop the product. As a matter of reference, I see that Microsoft offers a suite of nine apps (inc Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for less than the forthcoming Evernote cost increase. I honestly feel that the Evernote product is being so heavily upgraded just because it can. Given the feedback here, I do not believe that the early users need or want these upgrades. Evernote is over-developing a perfectly flexible and workable product. But that's just my opinion Wow, I don't think like you and get passive-aggressive in return. Please do not respond further to my disappointment that I can no longer afford Evernote.
  14. yeah but it does not cover all use cases, like when you edit existing texts, i prefer to select all lines i want to change into bullet list then press one time the short cut. Much more effective than asking to insert a character at the beginning of every line.
  15. For me the "auto formatting" option is much more convenient. Just type -, * or + at the beginning of the line
  16. Hi, Currently we can't change it and it's unfortunate because the enforced shortcut is not standard. The standard is ctrl + shift + 8 (numpad). Because of that, in all windows applications, browsers included, we are trained to use ctrl+shift+8 but only in Evernote we have to use ctrl+shift+b because we can't change it... That's not user friendly.
  17. Apple offers a full software suite for no extra charge, including a Notes app. Still there is room for other developers, even in that ecosystem. What does this tell you ? Pick what you like, and what supports your use cases. Don’t get enough value: Go watching.

  19. notes with a reminder should be visible in the proprietary Evernote calendar (perhaps as option)
  20. Those that want Markdown editing and are fed-up waiting (to be taken seriously), should trial Obsidian. It’s free, has huge community support via a plugin architecture, supports MD natively and integrations with Excalidraw and Mermaid for diagrams and mind-maps. I’m not all that happy with the note organisation (navigation etc, as it’s closely coupled with the filesystem… so note naming has restrictions); alas, I’ve been on the EN-koolaid for a long time, I probably just need time to adjust That said, note linking and the cluster/cloud view is very cool. Device syncing can be done via a paid vendor plugin, or you can roll your own; I have ResilioSync so am personally tinkering with that
  21. Just cancelled my subs after probably a decade of using Evernote. I cannot justify a doubling of the subs. The product has become over-engineered with capabilities way way beyond what I originally enjoyed about it. Sadly, off to Upnote for £29.50 lifetime subs.
  22. The forum is user2user. You can send your idea to EN staff through this link: feedback@evernote.com In principle I like your idea - it describes a problem for many languages, not only French. As a word of caution: AFAIK the characters with accents are not stored as the original character plus an accent character. They are different characters, with a different character code in binary form. This means an index can not simply „forget“ the accent „character“ - it needs to make a conversion into the base character. Of course this is possible, if coded.
  23. Yes, I believe that this is the plan. The new mobile home screen is for phones only.
