  2. No Not a good idea to have two copies of a document. They get out of sync. Evernote is my one and only storage location. As per @gazumped, I update the document stored in Evernote.
  3. Provided that you open the Word file from the note, it will be saved back into the note.
  4. If I attach the Word Doc and change the Original Word Doc's Content, that gets changed in the evernote attachment too?
  5. Pretty sure they'll get around to this sooner or later, but it won't be high on the list...
  6. Hi. Not necessarily - just attach your Word file to an Evernote note. The app indexes MS Office files, so you should be able to search the reports for keywords quite easily.
  7. I use word/pages for reports. They are stored in Evernote notes as attachment files, and included in the search feature.
  8. This one does not seem to work for me. Living with autism Perception.pdf
  9. Can you post a sample of the pdfs. I'll test it on my installation.
  10. I am a new Evernote user so be kind 😁 I have added some pdfs to Evernote from MS Print to Pdf but even after syncing and waiting, well actually days, they are not searchable. How can I make sure the pdfs become searchable. I do have a pro account.
  11. Well, That's disappointing. In that case word remains the place to be then. Shame , I will miss the powerful search feature and tagging feature that I could have used across these 100s of reports.
  12. No, Evernote stores a copy of the image. It's not available for such a link. One option is to use a link in Evernote, instead of the actual image.
  13. I'm sorry to say that I followed the exact directions from PinkElephant and it does not work. The PDF that is in the Evernote file has not data and is blank page. This has long been an issue with me as well. IOS Device - iPad Pro 12.9 IOS - 12.2 Safari - I will assume IOS 12.2 reflects version of safari PDF was simple Bill from one of my accounts. I used the 'Evernote' clipper which gives EVN box to update all info. If I use the 'Copy to Evernote' it will work but then I have to manually udpate all of the information. Small price to pay but is not workflow I want.
  14. Sorry for the light details, it's the web clipper extension on my Chromebook.
  15. Hi, I create many reports in words which I was planning to shift to Evernote. In some of the reports, I use the "Insert Picture" feature of Word where one of the possibilities is to insert and link to an image file. This ensures that when I change the Image File, it also changes in the Word Report. I was wondering if that is possible in Evernote also. Can the Image be there in such a way that if I change the source image, it also changes in Evernote. ?
  16. I wrote to many of them. Still waiting to hear from them. Not sure what the reason is.
  17. Your post is short on relevant details like platform, OS, app version etc. But I assume you are talking about webclipper in chrome on a desktop. If you search the forum, you may find a number of related threads. It seems there has been changes on the chrome side Evernote is/was not able to fix from their side. I am not sure what the status of this is now (not using chrome myself), but options are - do an own forum search, maybe there is a thread with a solution - go for support, they should know - use another browser. I am on Firefox on my Win10-PC, and on Safari on my Mac, on both webclipper works
  18. To stop the clipper (in Windows): 1) Exit Evernote 2) In Windows Task Manager kill the Evernote Clipper task that is running Now to stop clipper running ever again... 3) Run regedit and in Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Evernote\Evernote\StartEvernoteClipper set this to 0 This will stop Clipper starting up when you start Evernote for windows. I have also attached this as a .reg file that you can download and just click on to run if you dont want to manually set the setting value to 0. 4) Run windows task manager -> Start-up tab -> RMB on Evernote Clipper and set it to disable. This is to stop Evernote clipper from starting on windows startup. This works as of Evernote 6.18.4.8489. Note: Every time Evernote updates you might want to check that they havent reset some of these settings and Clipper is not now starting up again. NOTE TO EVERNOTE DEVELOPERS (from a developer): Forcing the user to always have clipper running is pretty bad practice and there should be an option to easily stop it from running. Why? Cos the clipper hijacks so many key combinations at a system level probably without the user knowing. Why do I want to not have clipper running in the background? I (like millions of others out there) use Microsoft Visual Studio in combination with Resharper and the key combination shortcuts conflict with each other and because Evernote has hijacked the key combinations at a system level it stops certain key combinations from working in Visual Studio. 20. Apple users have enjoyed changing the font sizes (small, medium, large) and font colours in the iOS app for quite a while now... When is the Android Evernote app going to catch up (or surpass) the functionality of the iOS app?
  21. Check out StackOverflow; it's set up for developer support
  22. Yesterday
  23. Ah! Thanks. We do have developer skills that's fine. So something like this then: 1. NoteStore.listNoteBooks 2. Something to list the notes of a book (what's the function for this?) 3. NoteStore.getNoteWithResultSpec (withContent=true)
  24. Yes, but you need developer skills. Along with the third parties, we have access via the same APIs
  25. Thanks a lot DTLow. If a third party has access to Evernote's raw data, is there a way we can have access to it as well?
  26. I have a bit of a workaround for those interested. In my case, this worked with trying to capture Washington Post comments. Let's say the goal would be to capture all currently visible comments. What I did was: Highlight any portion of text starting from the first comment. Continue to hold down the mouse/left-click. Hit the "End" key on your keyboard. This should bring you down to roughly the end of the comments section. Extend the highlighted section a little bit in order to ensure the last comment would be completely highlighted (you can let go of the mouse/left-click at this point). Right-click on any section of the highlighted text, then select "Print". Save as PDF. It's obviously not an ideal solution nor an elegant one, but at least it works without too much fuss. I'm going to test this method with some other websites I frequent in order to determine if it could potentially represent a more generalized solution rather than for a select few use cases.
  27. I'm on 7.10 MacOS Mojave 10.14.5, and it still isn't fixed. IMPOSSIBLE to see the cursor Did some more testing - this is just with web pasted content. If I get out of those paste blocks, the cursor is white and very visible again.
