  1. Past hour
  2. Exactly my view as well @gazumped I cannot see me using this feature as I have never failed to find a File in a note by searching.
  3. This is a major flaw of EN. How can they have no reporting functionality. And it appears that there is no api facility. The only workaround is to export all notebooks as individual html files. Then run a script across the html files.
  4. .... just tested on a family member's new MacBook Pro using Safari, connecting through Verizon hotspot. Same account. Same loop... no error messages. Next I'll try out a new account. Since I'm not an Apple guy, would Safari block Evernote.com Logins by default? @PinkElephant, would you by chance know this? 🤔
  5. Don't think it's related to account type - I had a legacy test account until recently; converted it to v10 without any issues. I doubt you'll get to the bottom of this with or without a poll - what you need is to contact Support - which may take some time, but they can fix your login issues...
  6. Wasn't me that said that - the author is no longer with us, since it was irrelevant to the discussion and seemed like typical bland AI-speak. On the general topic - Legacy was declared obsolete (and potentially dangerous) 3 years ago. v10 was a new and different product which replaced it, If you find the new product inadequate for your needs, there are plenty of other options out there...

  8. A good first step would be to (politely) point out to Evernote that you would like to be able to see a listing of all your assigned tags, plus sub tags. I saw somewhere else that less than 5% (I think) of Evernote users actually have a tagging system, and I'd bet that far fewer have such an extensive setup - so just like your Legacy use, you're very much in a minority. Evernote's current owners had nothing to do with either version of the current tagging system, so they might have plans to improve it - or it might be a low-priority item to consider at some future time. You'll never know unless you ask...
  9. Evernote Desktop runs very quickly on my Dell Win 11 Desktop, but even there the Files section has a bad attack of molasses. I agree it's unusable at present, but I look forward to it getting better... though I also don't know why I'd go there for a file rather than look at the note it's attached to. Unless there's a possibility that the if file becomes detached from the individual note I could still find it there? (But shouldn't it be in Note History too??) Confused.
  10. It is reportedly on its way. Please scan the forum for similar threads and post there instead of opening a new one.
  11. Which is expected - the fix will be released soon; I don't think anyone has the update yet.
  12. I'm starting to wonder if this loop thing is an account specific problem only... and unrelated to any other variable. Interesting Discoveries: I noticed that if I enter in my username with a wrong password in the web login... it says I changed the password 98 days ago, yet if I use my email address with the wrong password, it says I changed the password 30 days ago. Hmmm... wth? Also tried various "Submit a Ticket" / "Contact Support" links with my new Windows laptop using both Edge and Chrome. Same issues. Since I'm not too familiar with the new version of Edge, I worked with Chrome to check more into it. I found only TWO things within Chrome which were initially set to be blocked within evernote.com; Intrusive Ads and Insecure Content. I then set both to ALLOW.... and tried all over again. Same issue. Endless loop. This is on a new laptop. Tried on multiple ISPs. With not seeing a plethora of other users having this issue, I highly doubt it's related to the ISP, default Firewall or default AV settings. Some instances of the Login didn't have the ReCAPTCHA option listed. Weird. I've tried a few dozen times and it's sporadic. One thing I'd love to find out if it's specifically related to those that had the Legacy/older accounts. ( I've been a member since 2008. ) Should we do a poll to get to the bottom of this? Is there even a poll option in this forum?
  13. Alright, makes enough sense. Is there a way to get the windows folder labeled "drop into Evernote" to not pop up every time a scan happens?? I set my stuff to 400dpi it used to be 300 anything higher that 400 scanner scans to slow. also seems like i cant print the image any longer from evernote oh never mind i see you got to double click the header to open it
  14. I should mention that the Evernote v10 Tag list is NOT respected the order of the Legacy Tag structure. I'm not sure but I think it's alphabetizing ALL subtags (regardless of depth) underneath one Level 1 tag. Demented, if so. (P.S. Thank goodness I have a copy of Legacy Evernote so I can go and look it up).
  15. This just happened to me. I resolved it, on Windows, by killing all the Evernote processes and then starting EverNote up again.
  16. I have about 3K tags which I have been building and organizing for about ~12 years. Not really sure how to get the "whole" view of tags but occasionally I find one attached to the side list of Tags. There are only TWO options: by Frequency of tag use or Title. Although Legacy Evernote enabled me to create Alphabetic-ordered top level tags, with sub tags, and sub sub tags, and sub sub sub tags, etc. I find NO WAY to even see this now. This is the best Help topic on Nested Tags which I can find https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/4412905761299-Create-nested-tags so Evernote, at least, admits they should exist. Anyone with ideas about how to SEE them? Or modify them?
  17. good luck. Force myself with my own payment to learn?? You are trying me to learn "complete new things" after almost 10 years of usage of legacy app? Yes, fully true. But I will follow my rules, my choice. 99% not for EN anymore. we were old, solid rock, but valuable and reliable customers (paying every year). Now "new business focus" moved our efforts to trash. Really: "good luck". We have to find our niche again in the market.
  18. First I’ve heard of this. How about providing a few links to those comments?
  19. In general for both own OCR and OCR by EN the scanner should be set to high resolution - 300dpi or better should be selected. 150dpi or less will create bad OCR recognition rates. The files become larger, but only with good picture layer quality the text layer will be correct. If the scanner software does its own OCR you need to check with that software. In the ScanSnap app provided by Fujitsu it is a single checkbox that toggles OCR on or off. If there is an OCR (text) layer in the pdf, EN skips running it’s own. It then only indexes the text layer it receives. Indexing means it takes the words and builds a location mark for each one. This means each word will be in the index only once. The index will then hold all places where it shows. The term MyContent will be there once, and then a list of files and positions inside of that files will follow. That’s how false positives and false negatives happen: A false positive will tell there is MyContent where there is none, a false negative will not show it although it is there. This happens when the word is not identified correctly. So it depends all on the OCR identifying it correctly among the cloud of pixels that form the scripture on the white background. When you open the pdf in a reader app, and you can then select the text with the mouse it usually contains a text layer. At least this was how it used to be. With modern OS doing instant OCR (at least my Mac does) it is sometimes hard to tell without taking a look at the pdf file itself. If all your scans are in English, the English language setting will be fine. Just when using several languages adding them becomes important. But again, this will not override an existing text layer that was created before the pdf was uploaded into EN. A good text layer will give good search results.
  20. We know what it says...Lol. Soooo, as mentioned previously with this being a fresh install of Firefox, what might be helpful to know/consider... is that the browser might actully be the best place to look for these types of issues... FIRST... and FOREMOST- instead of going through all of the other ancillary hoopla networking variables before that. I didn't disable any pop-ups. Firefox browser... by default... may have blocked it- according to Evernote's message. I'll be looking into the Firefox browser to see if it's truly blocking it through a pop-up blocking agent or something. I haven't used Firefox in over a decade and this was my first install of it on this tablet, so should be a good place to do some testing for it. (Instead of my preferred browser; Chrome)
  21. I don't think it is too harsh. When a company that provides fake AI "services" asks other companies to put a button in their interface that will send user data out to their servers, it is a Trojan horse. Users are induced to use this feature without ever having asked for it. Across these forums, there are users who seem to have inadvertently activated the feature and now see it doing things without their re-authorizing it. It does not appear Evernote has any real handle on this technology or any control over what the outside providers do with user data–which is stored on that outside company's servers for up to 30 days and possibly longer (given there appears to be zero oversight).
  22. That’s enough - to know that only a small group of users run these posts. Usually with a lot of strong expressions, and short of information. Personally I would send anybody who just now switched from only using legacy for half a year into read only mode in this forum. Who used deprecated software for more than 3 years and procrastinated with at least using v10 in parallel should first follow his personal learning curve before starting his rants. The forum has a wealth of information and solutions for anybody who is serious about using v10. Who is switching from legacy will experience a need to adapt his workflows. Who moved with v10 did this step by step. Who stood by until now has it all in one leap. Nobody to blame, who did not adapt over time did bring himself into this situation. Who is not willing to adapt should better quit now, and leave for another app. Nobody waited for you to switch and start ranting. You didn‘t move earlier out of your own decision, and you are where you are because of it. I have my own issues with v10 (as with any other app I use), but in general I prefer it 100% over legacy.
  23. Ok so the way im scanning right now, which is to the folder then getting imported to Evernote, it wont OCR as well??? Im not sure when a scan comes with text layer or not. Is there a way for the Epson DS-510 to do the same as the Fuji - the pre ocr? is there some videos i could watch to better understand also i checked my language settings, its set to US only
  24. Tried to add a line "<back to Content>" at end of each section to be able to jump back to the TOC... add a H1 "Content" to the top of the note copy anchor link to clipboard by clicking on icon right of the headline paste this link to new line at end of a section unfortunately the title of the note is used as link text - should be "Content" change link text to "<back to Content>" copy this line to each end of a section go <back to Content> insert TOC with /-command just after H1 "Content" delete first line of TOC (because it points needless to "Content" 😉) Works great 👍:
  25. You do not need "new feedback, new reports". You just need to spend one or two days to read this forum. Is should be enough to realize what's wrong with EN v10. Thats enough.
  26. s2sailor: Thank you for your post! I deleted and reinstalled the app on both my iOS devices and that cleared up the mismatched tags perfectly. Such an obvious fix and I'm ashamed I didn't think of it.
