  1. Past hour
  2. I can find any File I need in a Note with a normal search. As I already reported, Yesterday I deleted a note containing a PDF. Despite this, the PDF was still displayed on the Files List. There was no visible means for me to delete this file, and I only managed to do so by Opening the File in Adobe Acrobat, which had a link to the Offline Data Storage, and I was able to delete it from there.
  3. Evernote doesn't send confirmations with ticket numbers anymore. Only thing you get is a standard mail (without any ticket number). To find a ticket number, you have to login to help and go to "my tickets" to find it.
  4. I'm obviously delighted that this will be useful for some people. Sadly many of my attachments are clipped from the web and their names are often not very helpful. For me personally the whole point of having attachments in EN is to be able to add other information which either adds context or makes the file easier to find. This might be as simple as making the title of the note the actual name of a report rather than the meaningless title of the pdf. Also the ability to add numerous attachments, with explanation, as part of a bigger story. If all I wanted was a list of files then there are lots of options which don't use EN.

  6. ??? If it will be implemented completely (see above), it will get a very usefull tool to search for things around and inside attached files. I'm often sure that something is inside an attachment. If the Files search will be able to scan text in images and sound files - bingo! Until now there's no search keyword to find text only inside attached files...
  7. Basically, this is as much used as a chocolate teapot.
  8. Aggree. They seem to be focused on just rolling out new features. This looks good on the front-end but generates plenty of bugs on the back-end.
  9. You can’t send emails at support. You need to issue a ticket. You know you have a ticket when you got a confirmation with a ticket number. And yes, support experience currently is slow at best. In most cases I experienced it to be useless, at least up to my area of experience with my tickets. On the other hand the EN team is really fast these days with fixes 😀. But it comes with a flood of releases 🙁. And sometimes it seems for each 🐞 squeezed there are 2 new 🐞 🐞 introduced 😡 .
  10. Did you get any answer from support? I have the same problem for months now without any solution…
  11. Has anyone made progress or does anyone have similar experiences? I somehow can‘t really believe that this has not been adressed by the Evernote support team…
  12. Wrote several emails to support, to remove me from the testers group. They don't even bother responding.
  13. Yep - preview works only for images and PDF. Other files (.XLSx, .DOCx and all others) throw only a message to open or download it 😞. Search does not search within the files. 😞 If you are looking for a specific word within an Excel oder Word document, the normal search (within notes) will lead to the file - but not the search within Files 😤 But all-in-all the Feature itself is a very good idea
  14. Ive just been forced to upgrade from legacy and have now discovered this. I want concise notes, not white space! I really cant cope with Evernote anymore. I actually find it now makes my life more difficult. I'm off
  15. ??? If you placed a tag (by Drag&Drop) on the desktop, EN-Legacy placed an ENEX-export. Don't know why because it would be a better choice to habe only something like an URL that causes EN to show what's requested in a search phrase embedded in the URL's address 😉. But this functionality (storing and re-executing search phrases) was and is given by defined Favorite in EN10... You may place the tags in Favorites and sort Favorites by your own. Even if you rename tags, the order within the Favorites will not change.
  16. I completely agree. It is a weird view which has been in V10 since the very beginning. One thing that might help is that if you right click on the shortcut (Windows) you get the option to open in a new window which leaves the existing view unchanged. You can also open in a new window by double clicking but that gives you the "no notelist" version of the note as well. I assume you can do something similar on Mac.
  17. Yep, even when you type the ctrl+/ shortcut to open the keyboard shortcuts list. This is doubly annoying because the insertion point is no longer automatically placed in the keyboard shortcut search so you have to click in the search bar twice before you type in your search. For the record / does not invoke the menu when typed in a code block - so there is somebody in EN actually thinking for at least some of the time.
  18. Currently it is desktop and web only. They say they are working on mobile, so probably we will see it there as well. You can collapse lists as well. You can’t include lists into a TOC. It still is not recommended to create very long notes. Performance and handling is better when notes are kept shorter. It’s called a note, not a novel.
  19. Hi. All good questions, but we're mainly other users here; and Evernote has never over-shared it's future plans. Given the break-neck speed of development in the past 18 months though, it seems highly likely that existing features will be developed further, and new ones added. Searching the Forums has always been an issue, but as it's a public forum you should find that any internet search will find forum topics as well as third-party ones. I believe that Evernote will be looking at the overall structure this year - it's unknown when or how that might lead to changes. Since you raise the question - how would you see things being revised? IMHO the major issue with Forums is that new users often don't know enough to ask the right questions, and frequently don't give enough information initially to get a sensible answer. (I have the phrase "what's your device / OS / Evernote version" on speed-dial...) Thinking about your suggestion - would it be more sensible to divide the topics into different operations rather than products? Off the top of my head that might be: Installing / Uninstalling: Versions Authentication - opening the app and logging in Editing/ Creating Notebooks & Notes - attaching content Exporting/ Printing Notes Organization - Calendars & Task Management Appearance - line spacing, thumbnails, styles -feel free to add more suggestions if I missed anything. Or should there be something else?
  20. Good you found the route yourself. Free is a trial, not meant for continued use. Probably you still had more than 1 notebook, which locks new note creation even when below 50 notes.
  21. It's a bug that came with EN 10.77.3 a couple of months ago. I have reported it several times, but just getting robot- answers from Evernotes socalled "support" telling that they don't care to check every bug report. https://discussion.evernote.com/forums/topic/150472-evernote-10773-windows-shortcuts-widget-bug
  22. thank you @s2sailor & @PinkElephant & @VincentC! It is working now. I think the same thing is about to happen to my other computer. I wonder if they changed something in the software that is exacerbating something. I guess this was a good exercise as I think somehow during many software changes I wound up with multiple copies of the database. It cleaned 210gb. 🙂
  23. This is very easy. If you use calendar/files/tasks - use it. If you don't want to use it, make a way for us to hide it
  24. Yes, please make this happen. This is so annying that you have to see stuff you don't use. Note to all developers in the world: If you add something in the software, always make an option to hide it for the user. Always!!!
  25. COLLAPSIBLE SECTIONS ARE THE GREATEST FEATURE EVER!!!!!!!! I can use them sort of like Workflowy for deeply nested lists which mirrors the way my brain works.. however there are a few issues I want to check before going all in on them: 1. They don't appear in the iOS app? All sections are just expanded and cannot be collapsed.. is this coming in the future? 2. Only the 3 headers can be collapsed, not lists or any other element. Is this going to change? 3. Ideally I would structure a lot of my disparate notes within a single note per year, with sections for each day and nested sections within that day for different topics. So that kind of note would have a lot of sections with lots of nesting. Is EN really going to support sections well enough that this is feasible and doesn't bug out or lag? Generally can we expect these to be a first-class, well-supported, long-term feature of EN? EDIT: Also what is going on with the forums? There are way too many subforums, some of which don't have posts for years. The main discussions page recommends posts from 2020. The whole thing is a mess.. the forums should be consolidated and the interface should clearly show the newest/trending topics. The search function also just doesn't work, doesn't find a lot of posts that have the right keywords, and it makes you select every single forum you'd like to search manually instead of searching all of them.. this is just terrible.
  26. Had enough of your incessantly annoying popups. Now a limit on the number of notes. I deleted few notes and also cleared trash and still getting the same message. That's the last straw, now I'm done with Evernote. Actually, thanks for hamstringing the Free Tier. That's how I got to know about Notion, which is where I'm headed. Sincerely, A frustrated user
  27. Yeah - ignoring it is the key. It takes the same number of keystrokes to enter a date as it did before. Slightly annoying though. They could tweak the slash command menu so that it doesn't appear if the '/' is preceded immediately by a number. This is the case in at least one other app that I currently use that supports slash commands. In that app, it seems more intuitive when the slash command appears and it can also be toggled off altogether. I hope/suspect we'll see some minor tweaks for improvements in the coming weeks/months. Pardon the US formatted date. 🤣 I generally type dates in YYYY-MM-DD format, but that's not a good example for the slash command menu. 😃
