  2. You actually tell very little about what you did - there is a lack of information here. β€žUpdateβ€œ from which version, on which client, on which operating system ? Did you check on the web client yet ?
  3. I think part of the problem is a poor decision (in my opinion) to use / as the "command". If they had used ctrl+/ (I know that is already in use - see below) they would have much more flexibility. We also wouldn't get an unwanted, distracting menu pop up everytime we type / and actaully want the / character. If I use ctrl+/ to open the keyboard shortcuts list when my focus is on the note list, the keyboard shortcut list opens and my focus is moved to the search at the top of the shortcuts. Perfect. If I use ctrl+/ when I am editing a note both the keyboard shortcuts list and the insert menu open and my focus is left in the text. A pain. I completely agree that we should have consistency, although by comparison with other auto formatting I don't believe this is a good example of inconsitency. The different behaviour of notebooks and tags, which you describe, is a much better one.
  4. Friday 29-03-2024. Offline notebooks gone again, again, again... 🀬
  5. Correct, still works. Hint: Please don’t underline you full posting. It decreases readability.
  6. Since 26th of March syncing was stopped for all older clients. Only clients younger than 10.60 (more or less) continue to sync.
  7. The usual advise was: In the evening, turn off the auto-lockscreen, put the device on charger, place the EN app as active app in the foreground, and let it run through the night. Plus avoid β€ždownload allβ€œ for the initial download. But that’s not the case here. Since some releases (maybe 10.70) offline download was improved a lot, and is much faster. All this from iOS, no experience with Android.
  8. In fact, personally, I find it very easy to not respond to any attack I may face here. We are on an internet forum chatting via text with people we have never met and will probably never see in our lives. Most of us don't even speak the same language. Honestly, we don't even know if the other users are real people or robots. For these reasons, I think you shouldn't be so sad about what others here say about you. This isn't real life.
  9. The iOS client works acceptable since 10.6, and pretty fine since 10.10 (yes, six and ten). There are a few unresolved issues, but nothing critical. I doubt it is the client software. iOS is simply straightforward, not having a wild bunch of makers, that install skins and bloatware on top of the core OS. One more big difference are keyboards - on iOS most devices run the standard. What I hear about the Android client is some users have a lot of claims, and for others it is working fine. No idea why.
  10. There is certainly no option to automatically delete a task on completion. You haven't said what your workflow is so it is difficult to comment on the easiest way of manually deleting. If you are working with a list of tasks in the task view window then the easiest way is probably to open the task rather than complete it (click on the task name). You can then complete it in the task pop up and then press "Delete task" at the bottom. Personally I use the option to hide completed tasks inthe task view and then periodically clear out completed tasks from notes so they don't really get i my way
  11. This is how it seems to work for me. If I change the sort order for a notebook it changes all notebooks and is persistent "Notes" has it's own sort order which can be different from my notebook sort order and is again persistent If I filter by tag I get the same sort order as "Notes" (as this is just subset of all notes ignoring notebooks) None of the above actions give me the option to sort by relevance If I search for a tag in the main search bar, I get the option to sort by relevance but it still defaults to my "Notes" preference. It's possible that it has adapted to my consistent refusal to use "relevance" as a sort order! If you do normally search for tags to add them, remember there are three ways of doing this Search in the main search bar - normally only get one tag and you may end up having to type in the whole tag name Switch to (ctrl + Q on Windows - don't know what Mac is) which does a good job of finding tags beginning with the text added The main tags pop out tags window, which finds every tag that has the search text in it.
  12. No. I am just saying that if it is a command, bring back the text. But I understand that this is asking for too much. A developer would have to spend perhaps even two hours on it and that time is better spent on other bugs. I stand by my story that a command should behave the same regardless how it was invoked. I rest my case with regards of the "/" command. But not with regards of the selection of Notebooks (see above). In particular that I realize now that the list invoked by the CTRL-Q command does in fact behave like the tags (enough to press ENTER, no need to select).
  13. Today
  14. It's perhaps worth noting that the embedding of spreadsheets into a note is one of the things that EN decided to offer to all users. Therefore you get all spreadsheet functionaility including filtering and sorting. It's definitely not a perfect preview (fixed cell height and width) and you can't interact directly with the data (you have to open the spreadsheet for that) but it is worth bearing in mind.
  15. You don't have to login to the web to download the latest version. Just click the download button on evernote.com/download The login screen is built into the app.
  16. I have this problem as well. I think it might be the issue I posted about a few minutes ago in another thread - that for those of us just updating from the legacy Android EN, the new version does not recognize our old default notebook as the default notebook, hence we have no default notebook. I think most of these issues with creating new notes, "clipping" and tagging will resolve once we have identified a default notebook. My understanding is this cannot be done in the EN Android app, but only in Evernote for the Web.
  17. I'm in the same boat - tearing my hair out. I'm wondering - do these same issues occur on the EN iOS version for iPhones, iPad Minis and iPads? I hate the thought of switching as I'm pretty heavily invested in Android, but with upwards of 27,000 notes, I'm thinking it may be worth it to have at least one Apple device, assuming EN wrote a better version for Apple devices. Years ago, they used to say, EN was much more Apple-friendly. Maybe that carried over to the big rewrite. If there are any Apple users out there, could you comment, please? I also want to point out that this issue of not being able to create new notes (which I'm experiencing as well) was raised back in 2021 (I posted and others posted) and created support tickets. The response from EN was that it was a known issue, they were working on a fix, and in the meantime the workaround involved renaming the old default notebook in EN for the Web. I haven't tried that yet, but I plan to tomorrow. The issue was the new version did not recognize the old default notebook as the new default notebook, so essentially there is no default notebook in Android EN. What I'm finding is that if I'm trying to create a note in NOTES (previously ALL NOTES), I can't do it, but if I create a new notebook or go to any existing notebook, I can create notes there. For now, I created a new notebook and I'm successfully creating new notes in that notebook. I plan to move those notes to my old default notebook once I can get the Android app to recognize it as my default notebook. Other issues I'm having - almost impossible to add multiple tags in Android EN. I've found a very slow way to do it (I have hundreds of tags), but I'm hoping once the default notebook is established, it might resolve. Another issue is the share from Chrome (web clipper function) is not working. Everything I dreaded about leaving the legacy Android version has come true.
  18. Since the excellently functioning legacy version was discontinued, I've been struggling with the half-finished V10 on my Galaxy S22! I have set up 3 notebooks for offline sync and have been waiting for SEVERAL days for them to come completely offline. Unfortunately so far without success! These 3 notebooks have a total of just 300 entries, so nothing that should take that long Does anyone else have this problem besides me? If yes, how did you solve it?

  20. Do you work for Evernote? I keep seeing your posts in support of bad software practices... don't force me to login on a web browser and download an upgrade. What decade is this? The UX for upgrades is WELL defined by thousands of software packages. giving me a login screen on my app, having me input my user name THEN telling me the client is NOT supported, THEN making me go to a web browser is quite literally software insanity. Meanwhile, this is maybe the 3rd time in less than a month.
  21. I spent. bit of time today figuring out how to sort by a table column until I finally did some web searches and learned the feature just isn't part of Evernote As noted above, adding sorting especially and filtering would be most welcome. Those are basic features people have come. to expect from tables. Adding sorting should be a high priority task going forward.
  22. I recently experienced the same problem, my old version 6.25 not syncing suddently. logout and re-login then "can't connect to server". Updated to version 10 resolved the issue.
  23. I can see your post i give you my best please see below and follow the information step by step. To β€œSelect All” text in Evernote on an iPhone: Ensure the note is in Edit mode. Tap once in a space between words or at the end of a paragraph to place the cursor. Long-press in this blank space. A menu will appear with the β€œSelect All” command I hope my suggestion is helpful for you. If you want more information please tell me. Best Regard, ryan1969
