There are a few different complaints in this thread. Which in particular are you referring to?

> I made the Windows directory that captures screen clips into an import folder. So, for me, Win+Shift+S creates a new note containing the clipped areas. I assume that after Win Shift S, that one must save the clip into that directory? > Alt+Ctrl+N is the global command for 'new note' That only works with Evernote in the frergound, for me, anyhow.

Did anyone get rid of this ***** with any of the updates? I opened several tickets, wrote to them on X, but no response. I find it highly unprofessional behavior from their side. Implementing such a useless change...

Thank you for confirming how it works. I have no way to know what's been synced and what hasn't, so I'll need to cut my losses on whatever is gone and try to recreate those notes later if possible. Rather than risking additional sync errors that increase the number of notes lost or receiving new updates that further compound the issue, I'll just close Evernote and won't add anything to it until I have a block of time in the next few weeks to go through the uninstall/reinstall process. I appreciate your description of the process, it's very helpful.

Hello Pink Elephant, thank you for your answer. Client enable downloading version below 13 compatible with my iOS but will never connect with the server again, that is it? Solution would be to buy a new mobile with iOS 13 on? My present mobile works perfectly and has many apps in it. Would you recommend a new low cost iphone 13 iOS and up? I'm from Brasil and will be in USA on june this year. Thanks a lot for your help.

In the midst of a lot of criticism here, it's good to see someone who still realizes how good Evernote is. Congratulations!

Doubling the price??
PinkElephant replied to Jeffrey Hallett's topic in Evernote General Discussions
It is usually more difficult (and expensive) to reduce a complex product by taking away features, than to develop the same bottom up. Too many dependencies, and in the end you deliver software that will be more prone to a buggy behavior than without the downgrade. And what for ? You don't gain many users unless you rebate it a lot - and then you don't gain a lot of money by getting a lot of users. EN has been there, by allowing the grandfathered subscriptions to continue over years. -

As someone migrating away from Evernote, I think what you wrote is solid. I felt the price increase was fair and think Evernote had been underpriced for a while. I think what Bending Spoons has done to tighten the freemium model and increase prices is sound. I'm just migrating away for similar concerns that @MvdH is waiting out on a little bit longer. I couldn't wait anymore and the implementation and side-affects of some things left me perturbed. Still, I think Evernote is a fantastic product.

Evernote 10.86.2 Windows - two Evernote calendars?
janndk replied to janndk's topic in Evernote General Discussions
I don't think Evernote likes me very much, so double calendar must be a bug. Or was a bug, as a new update with a bug fix is already released. -

Exactly a reason I think they are in a good position to start experimenting with other tiers of service. -
Doubling the price??
PinkElephant replied to Jeffrey Hallett's topic in Evernote General Discussions
There are enough apps in the basic note taking segment of the market. Many of them are offered by indie devs or small outfits with a narrow cost footprint. From a business viewpoint it probably makes no sense to downgrade a complex product just to compete in this field. -
If you're going to offer a cut-down version of your service, you need to have a final, fully operational version of what that service is before you can start paring it down. Evernote is sensibly (MHO) getting their full product set up before they consider any options.

Doubling the price??
Jeffrey Hallett replied to Jeffrey Hallett's topic in Evernote General Discussions
I think these two latest responses are a good summary of perhaps where Evernote is now missing the boat. We all appreciate the hard work the team has put into making a great product, but they've lost the division between the personal basic note-taker and the power-user. They would do well to create a lower-tier for more basic note taking, and clearly differentiating a premium professional product with a higher price tag that includes more advanced features like sharing, calendar integration, AI, etc. -

Doubling the price??

The app is not build for basic note taking. Simple as that, good luck.
