  2. Was this directed to me? I am not a Wordpress use Not sure the implication, but I do have the tools to extract my data from Evernote for processing
  3. Today
  4. I'm now using Evernote 8.9 for Android. The search is not working. I'm using Nixnote in Linux on my laptop as a way to back up my Evernote. Does anyone have a good Android app to migrate TO. I can stick with Evernote Android if the search doesn't work. When I search on "Migrate Evernote to" it mostly gives links about OneNote (Windows). That's not what I want.
  5. This beta is getting better! Best release in a while. I know a new editor is coming... so I'm ignoring all of the code block bugs I reported which are still present. Still can't search EN note contents w/ Spotlight though, depsite nuking and rebuilding indexes again after installing 7.10b2

  7. First, a question that I'll follow up on in another post, Do you use Wordpress? Glad you're not asking about editor, as I don't really know. My memory of it is it is similar to this window. I do a lot of writing, but other than basics, I don't care. On to the fun stuff. I am primarily using it and Evernote as a digital filing cabinet. N is so much more customizable, but as User63 said, out of the box, it's exactly the same. The import is seamless, so you end up with what you had in EN. I don't use tags much, but the ones I had came across. What happened to them? They became entries in a property (what they call field types) called Tags. Besides the ton of other page types or objects you can embed in a page, they have five basic page types. They call them views, which is better descriptor as, just like EN, you can view the same data different ways. EN imports come across with two views, List and Gallery. List view is very similar to List view in EN, with a major exception, I'll get back to. The coolest view is Gallery which is similar to Card view in EN, except you have more control over the image that is shown and the other data is completely customizable and controllable. You do this with the properties I mentioned earlier. And that is the difference also in the List view. You set up these properties, just like fields in a flat file database. Then you control which, if any of these show in the five views. For instance, I have a gallery view of Bills Due and Books. The Bills view shows a thumbnail of the bill, due date and amount. The Books view shows a thumb of the book cover, and title. I can open the record up to see the other fields, any freeform text and other things I will talk about in another post. Table view is just like a flat file database and works like any of them have since dBase or similar back in the dark ages. Board view is a Kanban type display and will group on any field you choose of the Multi-Select variety. So you could have a traditional Kanban showing Urgent, Next, Someday tasks, or, in my Books case, Read, Reading, To-Read- but there is a better, or at least different way to handle that. I could have separate pages, or separate views on the same page, that slices up my books database by those parameters. This is how I handle my task list. There is a master list with everything in it, including due dates, contexts, etc. Then I have views on my Dashboard (a generic name for my main page) with Daily, Today, Tomorrow, Next 7 Days and Done views of all my tasks. All are views of the master list. One of the coolest views, which I haven't even used yet is the Calendar view. Any database with any date field can be viewed as a calendar. Have more than one date fields? Build a calendar for each. All of these views are highly customizable re which fields you see, the filters and the sorting. So, if I wanted a calendar, showing all of my tasks around the house due in the next two weeks, it's a couple of clicks away. That's probably enough for now, but I will say that every time I see someone else's page or a new video, I think of a new way to display some of my EN notes. Meanwhile, they are sitting in the same folders I had in EN and the search function works just as good. And trust me, I haven't scratched the surface here. Having said that, for me, their biggest weakness right now is now email into function. I have no doubt that will be out soon as developers are very active, open and honest. later
  8. Thanks for reporting. Engineering is aware of this bug and we'll be looking into it. Thanks!
  9. Hi there, Evernote for Mac 7.10 Beta 2 is now available and you can download here. Improved Improved note loading speeds Improved search performance in slower networks Fixed Fixed an issue where spotlight search kept invoking the keychain prompt Fixed an issue where a migration message kept appearing after launching Evernote Known issues Text is fuzzy in non retina displays. Complex notes are choppy when scrolling. When you open a note with Spotlight while Evernote isn't running, it opens Evernote but not to the note you searched in Spotlight.
  10. Ok. I didn't check for the update. It just told me it was there. I only checked to get the screengrabs above. I too have seen crashes in the past few days, but never when using. Only after suspending and whatnot, so haven't had an issue to lose data or work.
  11. Thank you. I thought this too. I’ll post one in the morning when I’m back at my laptop. thanks v much for your help. X
  12. Can you please open a topic for 7.10 beta 2?
  13. The Remove Notebook option applies to notebooks shared with you. Please post a screenshot.
  14. Its odd because when i right click the delete option isnt there. just remove
  15. Oh and this is on a macbook air
  16. Hi So yes i have more than one notebook. I have 5. I right click and select remove and then a warning window pops up to say are you sure you want to delete this notebook etc.and i click yes and nothing happens.
  17. That's expected. See my post (a couple) above. Edit: Our upgrade path doesn't play nicely with MSI (Microsoft Installer).
  18. Yes please. I imagine in the product development you guys were thinking "OK if user's note gets duplicated, it's not ideal but user will just delete the dupe." Issue though is there are multiple dupes, and it's hard to tell which one has all the info. I have notes that I've been maintaining for multiple years. When one of these gets duplicated 3,4,5 times, I want to delete the dupes, but I don't want to get rid of the wrong one (they don't sync perfectly I've noticed).
  19. I have beta 6.18.3 but it is asking me to install the latest version, 6.17.7 Public (308474). I wasn't paying attention to versions so said OK, and obviously got this. The update notification: My installed version:
  20. Thanks for the feedback. I'm sure there's lots of room for improvement around our logic here. I'll forward this feedback to our product managers to see what can be done. If I have any updates soon, I'll post here. Thanks!
  21. 6.17.7 is a hotfix. It contains only a security fix. This was _just_ released, I image a topic will be created after everyone is back from lunch.
  22. I did it for almost 3 years at another company. Driver installs too. (Funny thing, headhunter contacted me, my skills were a perfect match - for installers. Nope! Once was enough!)
  23. Just reset the size on the original text and you will get the same result. If you look at the ENML a font size parameter gets added, <font style="font-size: 10pt;">. Don't know what the plumbing is, but it would appear that EN left to its own devices has two different sizes, 10 isn't quite 10. I've seen the same sort of stuff when dragging default text from one note to another, values get added which then causes display size on IOS to vary for what one would think was the same parameters, ie, default. Saw this with my workout notes, the font was smaller on my phone after dnd when creating a work out note. Copy/Paste is the workaround for that. Oh well.
  24. @Nick L. : If I am using a web-based interface, I completely agree that creating duplicates is far better than losing information. Luckily I am usually running on Win10, MacOS or iOS, so up to now I was not flooded by security duplicates. It would be good if this feature could be assisted by a tool that can be used to get rid of the unwanted twin notes in an economical way. Sort of another entry into the „extended help menu“ ? Pick the notes, present the youngest one of them all and let the user confirm that it contains all the information; then delete all the earlier copies ?
  25. I know the Beta discussions have been moved, but a (EN Win) GA 6.17.7.308474 is shown as an update available when my EN loads and checks. This link used to show the new EN Win GA Release Notes https://discussion.evernote.com/forum/224-evernote-for-windows/ It is only showing the Jan 10 GA 6.17.6.xxx I used to DL the GA releases from those announcements. I keep the older copies of GA releases just in case I need to revert, so I want to DL it myself - Thanks
  26. Thank you so much for the response! That would be wonderful to do but I am not sure it can be done in Zapier - do you have any input on how to ensure that Zapier selects a template for every new note? I would be forever grateful. As far as I can tell there is no way to tell Zapier to use a pre-set template that we can then push text into.
  27. One curious thing: I set the default font to Segoe UI 10, and created a new note, then typed some text into the note ("Segoe UI 10", how original). OK, fine -- looks like the same in MS Word. Then I copied that text, hit a newline and pasted it. With Segoe UI/10 showing for font parameters, I then selected the new text, and re-selected "10" from the font size dropdown, and the selected text, while still looking like the original, spread out just a little, as if the spacing between characters increased a tiny bit, maybe by a pixel. On the other hand, it didn't change if I re-selected the "Segoe UI" font. So I'd guess that the font that's created by default and the font that's specified when you change font size isn't created with exactly the same parameters as the default font is.
