Not sure why this doesn't exist, but it would be extremely helpful to me. I love how the voice memo functions on the iPad version in that it lets you add additional voice memos to existing notes. Could we please have that on the Mac desktop software by implementing the built-in mic?

We just haven't implemented a native audio recording UI yet.

This would, however, be a desirable addition.

Thanks

As Dave said, there is no UI at the moment.

However, Quicktime X allows audio recording (so if you are Snow Leopard, you're in luck).

Simply open up Quicktime from the Applications folder, go to File>New Audio Recording (it even has it's own keyboard shortcut).

You can then save the recording and send it to Evernote. I haven't tried this myself, so I'm not sure if it'll be playable in Evernote or show as an attachment that you need to open in Quicktime or QuickLook.

I hope this helps!

I'm going to give the Quicktime X audio recording a try today. Good idea. Thanks.

Edit: since I'm going over their blogs, I might just do screencasts. I wonder what the file size difference would be.

This is functionality I would like to see added as well. The culture at my current company is such that pretty much everyone has laptops open in meetings, but using an iPad for note taking isn't really an option.

QuickTime is a great workaround, but I'm already taking notes in meetings, and having the extra step of remembering to attach the recording to the right note is highly error prone and results in a lot of orphaned recordings.

Hopefully native recording will make it to the Mac in a future release. (hint hint!)

Thanks again... Evernote is an absolutely essential part of my toolbox-- keep up the great work!
