Ability to use Shortcuts for things other than Notes

I consider Evernote to be my work platform - I want to be able to access information stored in a variety of different locations directly from Evernote. 

It would be great if I could save Links in the shortcuts bar to help me better access content stored in other locations.

I use the shortcuts area to store links to tags and saved searches
No notes - I have one tag (Hot Notes) to give me quick access to various notes

I'm not sure I'd want to add other links; too much clutter
Perhaps a link to special Note(s) where I have the file/web urls

Just to clarify, I'm guessing that you mean links like URLs to external resources like files in a file system or web links.
