Being an ECL

Recommended Posts

I've just started the ECL programme and completed the initial course.

I really like Evernote and am always promoting it to others. It's a great tool. So I'm definitely 'on-message'!

What I'm missing is why bother to be an ECL? I understand you get to wear a shiny new badge, hear about product updates and join a community to share best practice ideas.

But I was kinda expecting a bit more. For example, getting free access to premium products? Or the option to sign up to an affiliate program? - of which I've seen no details.

Sorry to be so candid but 'what's in it for me?'. I feel like I'm missing something...

What do other ECLs think?

Hi this is a public forum,  so lots of folks at this stage are wondering "what's an ECL anyway?..." (and I think you just lost about 1,000 brownie points for having to ask :D)

But if you've done a course,  didn't they mention any benefits?  I assume you have a certain expertise in Evernote products and features...

On the page where you can apply to become an Evernote Community Leader (here: https://evernote.com/community/apply/), I see:

Edit: the following applies to Evernote Certified Consultants, and not Evernote Community Leaders.

There is a difference between Evernote Certified Consultants which is what you posted the link for and the Evernote Community Leader program.

The Evernote Community Leader program is  geared more towards "general" users who have a love for the product and don't necessarily have a client base to share it with per say. The Evernote Certified Consultant program is geared more towards established consultants in a wide variety of fields who have an established client base to share Evernote with, thus needing access to the Business subscription software.

**Please know that this is my interpretation of the two programs and not a hard and fast definition.

Ack! My mistake, and thanks for catching it. So no Premium goodies for ECLs, it looks like. Sorry, Jim!
