miked 0
Why does Evernote want access to so much of the phone's information? When I go to install it, it wants confirmation of access to my location, personal contact data, phone state and identity. Why?Mike Link to comment
engberg 89
The location information is used to add "geo-tags" onto your notes, so that you can see where you took a note later. I assume "phone state" is required so that our app can start and stop properly as you change contexts. Your contacts are used if you email someone a note from within the application - we auto-complete as you type against this list.I'm not sure what "identity" means in this context. Link to comment
miked 0
Thanks - I presume it may be to do with the fact that your app is 1.5 compatible? Others seem to have a similar problem with the minSDK setting automatically granting access to permissions that the app does not request.http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=4101Mike Link to comment
