(Archived) Can't use it - crashes all the time!

Just installed this for the Mac today. V1.8.1. I am running Snow Leopard v 10.6.3.

Everytime it tries to perform a sync, or create a new note, it briefly freezes, then crashes.

Any ideas? Works fine for iPhone / web so far. Thanks!

When it crashes, do you see a dialog box asking if you want to submit a Crash Report? If so, please do so.

To try to fix:

Quit Evernote from the elephant icon in the menu bar if it is running

Drag Evernote to the Trash on your Mac

Run the Mac "Terminal" application

In the "Terminal" window, paste this text:

defaults delete com.evernote.Evernote

Download and install a fresh copy of 1.8.1 from: http://www.evernote.com/about/download/mac.php

Reboot

Try running the client

If that doesn't work, please open a support inquiry at the bottom of:

Yes, a dialogue box came up. I have submitted this each time the app crashed (and also copied the log in my original post).

To try to fix:
Quit Evernote from the elephant icon in the menu bar if it is running
Drag Evernote to the Trash on your Mac

defaults delete com.evernote.Evernote

Performed these steps.

Download and install a fresh copy of 1.8.1 from: http://www.evernote.com/about/download/mac.php
Reboot
Try running the client
If that doesn't work, please open a support inquiry at the bottom of:
http://www.evernote.com/about/contact/support/

Fresh version installed.

I rebooted. When I launched Evernote, the only thing ‘different’ I did this time, was to choose *not* to install the Safari bookmarklet / right click thingy.

I was able to enter my details and it synced successfully!

Many thanks for your advice and prompt assistance. I am afraid I had already entered a support request following my first crash - feel free to remove it now.
