Duplicate notes created - when dragging to dock icon

Recommended Posts

Hi all

I use Evernote for collecting reference images and have stumbled on a problem.

When I drag an image from my web browser (Safari/Chrome/Firefox) onto the Evernote icon on my dock, it creates two identical notes. It used to just create one, but something changed about a year ago. Now each time I have to delete one of the notes, which is not ideal. I'm on the latest versions of OS X and Evernote. This feels like a bug, can anyone report having the same issue?

(I would use the web clipper but for some reason, for me, this creates a note that doesn't have a thumbnail)

Thanks!

Johnny

Hi @jk9000, welcome to the Forums!

Thanks for reporting this, I am able to reproduce this on my end as well. Our development team is aware of this issue and is working on a fix. Though I do not have an ETA I am able to provide, I can assure you we're working diligently to fix it.

There are two work arounds at this time:

  1. Drag the image to the desktop, then drag it into the note.
  2. If you have Evernote's Web Clipper installed, right click on the image > Evernote Web Clipper > Clip Image

I hope that helps. Please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns!
