TdeV 89
I once was on the upgrade path for En and it screwed me up badly. Since that time, I've made sure that "Enable beta features and updates" was never selected. En has just asked me to do an update, I did, now "Enable beta features and updates" is selected (not my doing). So, is En not smart enough to know that I don't even want to download betas? Shouldn't it be telling me before I upgrade that it's a beta update? Link to comment
Level 5* gazumped 12,035 Posted July 16, 2016 Level 5* Share Posted July 16, 2016 What version do you have? The fact that the app now has an option to update to betas switched on, doesn't also indicate that it is a beta. I also complained about of my 'off' options becoming 'on' again in the new version - nothing related to betas - it's a minor glitch, once noticed, easily fixed. Link to comment
TdeV 89
I'm on 6.2.1 and the icon on my Desktop now has a little blue "Beta" banner. I guess I realize that when they enlarged the update options, they might have to give me new defaults, but I have had bad experiences being on the beta path. Link to comment
Level 5* gazumped 12,035 Posted July 18, 2016 Level 5* Share Posted July 18, 2016 OK if you have somehow installed the beta, it's not hard to recover; just follow the normal uninstall / reinstall process and choose the standard install next time. Link to comment
