MS Surface and taking handwritten notes

I have a surface 3 and would like to use Evernote instead of Onenote to take handwritten notes with my pen. Can this be done? Can only see the option in Evernote for Android and that's stange. Am I missing something?

I'm not enthused with doing handwriting in Evernote.  I make use of dedicated apps for doing serious work.
