How do I update?

I'm running evernote 6.6.1

When I open it, it says a new version of Evernote is available. So I click 'Update Now'. That takes me to an Evernote page in the Apple store. On the top left is an icon for Evernote, and beneath that, an 'Open' button. I click that. Nothing happens. I don't know what else to do.

 

What am I supposed to do?

If you really want to update, you can abandon the Apple Store version and go to the Evernote site and do a direct download of the software.  This will rebuild your database by downloading from the Evernote servers (doesn't include local notebooks)

Generally you're safer in the Apple Store for downloads, but I have faith in Evernote.  You get upgrades faster this way.
