Help please: new notes not saving

I'm running the latest version of Windows desktop under Windows 10.  The fault is this:

In any folder:

1. click New Note
2. give the note a title
3. in the list of notes the title doesn't change from Untitled Note, nor does the Created date change
4. add content to the note
5. in the list of notes, move to another note
6. return to the one just created - there's no content or title, the content is gone
7. leave this Notebook, then return to it - the note is no longer listed as 'Untitled Note' - it's not there at all.

This first happened one day last week. I can't remember how I got rid of it - I think I had to reboot the PC. I then had no problems with Evernote for a week until it happened again this morning. Hitting Sync doesn't seem to affect it for better or worse.

Can anyone tell me what's going on with it?

In Evernote, can you select Help>Check for Updates, and confirm if this issue occurs with the latest version of Evernote (6.0.6)?
