Can't edit notes

When I open up a note on my phone Fairphone2 Android 5.1) evernote won't let me edit it.

I hit away at the little round green pencil icon but nothing happens.

Anyone else have the same problem?

Wondering if this is deliberately disabled unless you use a pay version?

Thank you for posting and welcome to the forums. This seems a bit weird that it wont allow you to edit the note. A couple of questions for you on this:

• Does this happen on all of the notes or just this one note?
• Did this start happening after a recent update?
• Has a reinstall been attempted?

It happens to all notes, not just one.

And it is happening after a reinstall (so presumably incorporating the recent update)

Thank you for the follow-up. Are these notes in a notebook that was shared with you? Are you able to edit them from the Evernote website or other Evernote applications?

They are notes I have written myself. Both on the phone itself and on other devices.....

The ones that are most annoying are the ones written on the phone itself, as all you have to do id accidently shut the note whilst writing it and you can't continue writing it.

It seems like something isn't right with the Evernote application on your device. In order to see what is going on, please check your email and the request for a log file. We can continue troubleshooting from there.

Evernote is a piece of *****! Even upgraded and I STILL can't edit a damn resume. I'm done with this trash.

I also can't edit on my phone but instead of showing the little pencil to click on; it now shows a lock.  I've been using evernote for years without any problems. Why does the lock show up?
