The New Zoom Feature in 6.6

I was excited to see some of the recent updates in the new version 6.6, particularly the zoom function.  However, I don't seem to be able to get it to work.  I've tried command + (+) using the shift key.  Also tried it without the shift key.  Tried that by selecting a note and double clicked it, then trying to zoom in or out.  Also tried just selecting a note.  I've also tried the pinching motion on my track pad (I have an iMac).  It didn't work for me.  Just to check myself, I tried the pinching motion on evernote web page, it worked fine.  Is this zoom feature actually working for everyone?  Any suggestions or something obvious I may or may not be doing?

It seems unable to zoom anything but text.
