There's (a lot) more on the code values here - https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100402193438AA42qqB - but if you want to do searches or otherwise use the symbol actively within Evernote, you'll need the minus sign "-". Searching for notes not tagged with 'test' forinstance would be -tag:test There's also the new EN Windows 6 Beta which is currently featuring 'code blocks' and might accommodate your original Word version.
