[V6 Beta] We want to hear your thoughts!

Recommended Posts

Thank you for all the great feedback on our v6 beta so far. We have made more improvements to the application and will be doing another round of beta in the next couple of weeks.

In the meantime, we're looking for several people who'd like to jump on a quick video call with us to discuss how you use Evernote and hear your thoughts on v6.

We'll be running these sessions this Thursday 3/31 afternoon, Pacific time. You'll receive several months of free Premium in exchange no more than 30 minutes of your time.

Hi Stephane, I have always been a great lover and supporter of the Evernote Application and want to strongly encourage its use.

Since i liked the V6 version so much, i agreed for this call, but i suggest that you guys figure a more Asia Friendly time slot for future meetings.

Regarding the showing of how i use Evernote, I don't mind, but would that mean giving access to my Evernote keys? That would not be good. Can you please elaborate on this aspect, of how we want us to show you? Snapshots should be fine, I think, as long as we can mask out critical data, and show you how we use our beloved product.

Please confirm me, as per Indian Standard Time via email, how we will be invited or what ever. Thank you for the great build.

I like v6 a lot - although the last couple of days it has been crashing on me - no warning, no error messages, just a crash. Although sometimes it does run very slowly before it crashes. Not able to make the call, but hope that it is productive!

We'll be doing this over a Google Hangout or Skype call. We'll ask you at some point, if you're comfortable with it, to do a short screenshare and show us a couple of workflows. No more than that, and no need to hand over any keys. For the logistics, look out for an email in your inbox very soon!

Please send us the logs and we'll try to reproduce these crashes.

Two small issues I have identified from using V6.0.2. When notes are opened in a new window, the scrolling bar on the right becomes black and does not work. Also with the high DPI ,which is almost perfect, the information banner on the bottom (i.e Including wordcount) is too small and text is cut off. The last major issue I have with the new version is the "ALL NOTES" figure. I would love if the total number of notes made it way back up next to "Notebooks" on the left bar. Other than that the new update is very very good.

Sure - where do you want me to send them?

@FactMan Please send us the most recent .txt file found in your Evernote Crashes folder. To locate this folder, click Tools/Options/[General] "Open database folder", go up one level in the Windows Explorer window, Crashes folder is just above the Databases folder. There is no need to send the entire *.txt file, the stack trace section at the very top is what we're after at this point. It looks like this:

Exception Info:
Evernote.exe v.6.0.0.390 (0xe06d7363) C++_EXCEPTION at 0x7520c42d

Call stack:
0x7520c42d KERNELBASE.dll!0x7520c42d RaiseException+0x58(0xe06d7363,0x1,0x3,0x188ef4)

A quick update: Since the latest update was installed, I haven't had any crashes, so I can't send you any further traces. Good news, eh!
