Evernote - a storage for my books!?

Idea

Hi!

My mother language is german - please apologise my bad englisch, but I try it!!!

I would like to collect my books in EN. I use EN since many years an I know, that EN is very good and secure.

The titles should be found in the www or manually.

Scan Bar code would ne great, too,

Now I use the app "Scanolino Pro" (payed) but it is not secure because it doesnot work exactly with iOS 9.

You can see the screenshots how Scanolino looks like!

Kind regards

Moni

Hi.  As you already know there's no book indexing feature in Evernote,  though you could use a note template to capture the information you want in a standard format.  You might also look at Transpose (formerly KustomNote) which can save information into an Evernote note using database-style fields.  However I also use a separate specialist Android app to record the books I read,  with an ISBN scanner and quick reference to book sites to pick up cover pictures and summaries.  I back up that database into an Evernote note from time to time as a CSV file so I also have the possibility of searching in Evernote on my desktop.

With several existing book-collection apps already in existence,  I don't think Evernote will consider it worthwhile to spend any time or money for the benefit of only a small part of its user-base.  :(

No good idea to save ebooks in EN.
EN becomes "heavy" and not easy to search or annotate etc
As Gazumped said, there are other book collection apps in existence.
or if you do not want to use a book collection app, you can just organize them in folders.

Hello,

I believe that EN is a good too to read books specially that you annotate pdfs. I found EN is easier than iBooks and Google Books since you can put multiformt, multi language, flexible tagging etc.

I suggest to integrate with Goodreads with context feature to add description to the note/book

Thank you
