notalentgeek 2 Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 I guess the title is self explanatory. I have subscription with Dropbox of which offer better flexibility for me if I can host my own notes in Dropbox instead of using Evernote's cloud service.
Level 5* DTLow 5,749 Posted March 4, 2016 Level 5* Posted March 4, 2016 I don't think its workable. It might be an interesting exercise for one of you Window users to relocate your .exb file to a dropbox folder. - It may work - you've now bypassed the Evernote cloud for your Window devices but not helpfull for access on any other platforms. - I can see one benefit - local notebooks would be replicated to each Window device. Note: This will be in parallel with the Evernote cloud. You can't turn off the sync service. I wonder how Dropbox handles sync conflicts?
notalentgeek 2 Posted March 4, 2016 Author Posted March 4, 2016 Do we actually owns our notes or it is Evernote's? And sadly, I am a Linux user, there is no way for me to own my notes in local drive.
notalentgeek 2 Posted March 4, 2016 Author Posted March 4, 2016 How can I download all of my notes in Linux?
Level 5* Metrodon 2,188 Posted March 4, 2016 Level 5* Posted March 4, 2016 Install windows in a VM. There is no local client for Linux.

Am I correct in guessing that you're currently accessing your notes via Evernote Web? If yes. you're out of luck. You could look at some Linux apps that supposedly work with Evernote - they may have some export features. Otherwise, its only the Windows or Mac apps where you can export your notes in html format.

I have been using Evernote for like three years or so, but I never get any clue when will Evernote get better editor environment either for native Linux or at least a decent web application. So I am thinking it is time for me to look for alternative, but I could not left thousands of my note in Evernote.
