timmib 3
I have three notes which when clicked on in the middle column will not display the note but rather minimize the window. All three are web clips of wikepedia articles. Other such clips do not cause this action. I'm using evernote 5.9.6.9494 277494 public on win xp sp3. I can not figure out what characteristic of the note is causing the behavior. Any thoughts would be welcome. An example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reason_Foundation . TIA Kim Link to comment
Level 5* DTLow 5,744 Posted February 25, 2016 Level 5* Share Posted February 25, 2016 I would recommend opening a support ticket It will help the support team improve the stability of the product This page did not cause me a problem If you redo your clipping, does the error repeat? Link to comment
timmib 3
Greetings DTLow, Yes it does. I redid it this morning just to confirm the problem. The wikapedia clips in question are just fine in the web interface but produce this bizaar behavior in the desktop. I'm thinking of going back to either version 5.3 or 4.6, which were both stable for me, to see if the problem goes away. Actually, I just fiddled with ending the tray and clipper programs to see if this would make any different ... and it doesn't. Before I open a support ticket, what o/s and evernote desktop are you running? Thanks for the answer back. Kim Link to comment

I tested this on the Mac and iPad platforms; software is the most current version. No issues detected. Re: the support ticket - they will probably suggest some self help steps first. - Close app / reboot the device. - Reinstall the software Link to comment
dconnet 529
When you open a ticket, exporting the note as ENEX and attaching that would help. (I just tried in an XP VM and the web page (clicked as a full page) works just fine for me) Link to comment

So, you are not using a Win o/s. All I'm interpreting is that to click on the note in the evernote desktop app is like pressing a key-combination to close app without exiting the system. Is the evernote desktop Apple-centric? That is, Is Evernote being developed with the Apple o/s in mind and then 'ported' to windows? Link to comment

I really want to find out what this bug is. <g> I am going to run dependencies on this later today if something in win xp is missing and then hopefully catch the actual event. Thanks for your answerback. Be well Kim Link to comment
