TechWarwick 0 Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 There is a great article (here) that compares revenues from company first party apps to apps built by third party developers using the company API - for the Evernote app ecosystem. But I could not find any documentation on the Evernote Developer Portal on the revenue model that Evernote use with 3rd party developers using the company API. How does Evernote gain revenue from 3rd party apps built using the Evernote APIs?
Evernote Expert gazumped 12,630 Posted February 8, 2016 Evernote Expert Posted February 8, 2016 I don't believe that Evernote does gain revenue directly from thrd-party apps built using their API. The company's gain is from new users attracted by the developer's different slant on using the service.
Level 5 phils 220 Posted February 8, 2016 Level 5 Posted February 8, 2016 Gaz is correct; Evernote makes no money from and has no involvement in app sales of third-party products that work with Evernote. Also note that article is extremely old (3 1/2 years) so take the numbers contained in it within that out-of-date context.
