michael.freidgeim 18
Changes in Windows Evernote notes are not saved automatically. I've done some changes in note on Windows 10 Evernote and left it open. Some time later I've opened the note on IPad. My changes were not applied. Then I've done some other changes and closed the note on IPad. Later when I returned to my PC and switched to Evernote, synchronization copied note from IPad and overwrote PC changes. I didn't find a simple way to save the note on Windows Desktop Evernote. The only way how it's saved is to switch to another note. Similar issue was raised in https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/87801-how-do-you-save-or-say-you-are-done-creating-a-note/#comment-374902 The post https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/89947-auto-save-icon/#comment-384578 is talking about auto-save icon, but I couldn't see it on my Desktop Evernote. I have the latest version 5.9.6.9494 How to make Evernote to auto-save? At least adding explicit Save button will be useful. Link to comment

You need to distinguish between "save" and "sync": "Save" just saves the note to your local device, and is pretty much done automatically as you type/edit. "Sync" causes your device to sync (it will also save if needed) with the Evernote Cloud, which you need to do before you open the note on another device @jbenson2 has shown you how to setup sync intervals. I don't rely on this, and do manual syncs often Although sync, IMO, is one of Evernote's primary features, it still is not as solid or robust as it needs to be. So, I never rely solely on Evernote to automatically sync. I always do manual syncs, and I rarely have a sync issue. I have found the following to be helpful in preventing sync issues: Use multiple short Notes rather than one long Note that has many/frequent edits It is best to consistently manually sync, and sync often, especially after: Entry/Edit of an important note End of Session BEFORE you close or put your machine to sleep End of Day Start using a different device Even if you notice the Sync icon spinning on EN iOS when you switch to the app, do a manual sync anyway after it finishes spinning I have noticed that the initial sync does NOT always do a full sync. I'm not sure about Android devices, but I would do the same just to be safe. Link to comment
