To flip it around, what can cloud services do that Evernote doesn't. The one thing I noticed is that files remain in their original file structure while Evernote requires the file to be imported into the Evernote database and attached to a note. The file can no longer be accessed outside of Evernote. Other than that, I see no advantage to the cloud services.

Evernote is a cloud-based PIM, Personal Information Manager. GoogleDrive and Dropbox are cloud-based file managers. I use both Evernote and Dropbox, using each for things it is best designed for.
eafpres 111 Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 I agree with JMichaelTX. Evernote is an Information Manager. Evernote has organizational features that are not as simple to mimic in a file manager, such as very robust tagging. Evernote does some things like automatic OCR (optical character recognition) to index content in images. I'm not sure you can do that in Dropbox or Goggle Docs. There are many other features in Evernote that in my view are more efficient than say Dropbox. Since efficiency and ease of use are important to many (most?) users, that is another reason to use Evernote
