For a notebook that you have no desire to share, it's just a distracting button that wastes space in the scroll view list.
I can appreciate that it may be helpful to users who don't know about sharing notebooks, but I've been using Evernote for 5 years now and have a number of shared notebooks; I know that the capability exists, and I know how to use it.
For users who already know about sharing, it's just a useless button. Even if you want to share a notebook, it's something you literally only do once. So this button saves one click when compared to right-clicking a notebook and hitting "Share Notebook...".
Please give us a way to hide it. It's completely useless for notebooks that are intended to be local.
