Select note in List that is currently in Note Panel

I would like to select in the Note List the current note in the Note Panel. For example. when you click on a shortcut that opens a note in the Note Panel it does not also bring you to the same note on the Note List. The simplest way I know how to find it is to make a change to the note which will bring it to the top of the list if you have Sort by update date on. But I do not like this method as then I have to keep changing notes just to find them.

 

As a related question. Is there a way to Popout a Note into its own window from the Note Panel without having to find it in the Note list. It would be very handy if there was a "Popout" button on the Note Panel.
