Evernote doesn't sync in new Windows 10

Recommended Posts

I just updated to Windows 10 and most of my software works fine, except, well:

Evernote

Evernote cannot reach the server anymore in WIn10,

ReInstall and alloing Evernote's .exes in the Windows firewall did not work?

Any ideas anyone on what it could be?

I can only report that it is working fine in my Windows 10. Have you looked at security settings to make sure Evernote is able to access the internet? Sometimes in an update that will change either in Windows or in computer virus/ firewall programs.

PC has  Win 7 Ultimate, Cell is Android Win 4.1 KitKat, this laptop was just upgraded to Win 10. from an 8.1.  No problems syncing before that upgrade.  The PC and the Cell sync back and forth.  The Laptop doesn't not sync anymore.  Evernote webpage help doesn't help at all.  Any of you have a suggestion?

@Louise H Sorry to hear you're having sync issues! Are you seeing any sync error messages? My first suggestion would be to make sure you're on the latest version of the app. You can check this by going to Help > Check for updates. If you're running the latest, try signing out of the app (File > Sign out), reboot your laptop and then sign back in. If that doesn't help you may want to open a Support ticket. We'll have someone take a look.

I just had the same issue with Windows 10.  Apparently, it is now a good practice as @Louise H posted to log out and log back in to evernote after any windows 10 updates on your computer.  The updates I made prior to doing this on my computer are just gone.  They were never written locally to the evernote exb database , so I couldn't restore from a carbonite backup.

Your error log may have some clues as to what happened. The error that the original poster seemed to be having was less about sync, and more with a problem of being able to write to their local database. I should not that I don't have the problem with Win 10 on either of two machines, regardless of updates.

correct. I had the same issue with the local database.   Her solution worked for me.  The problem is you don't have a clue that the updates are not being saved as the error occurs.  I'd rather there was some indication there was a problem with writing to the local database when it happens, not after the fact, when it's too late.
