KD8TZC 2 Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 When will the bug that doesn't allow text that I highlight or text that I underline to print that way be addressed? This has been going on for a number of versions now and I would think that this would be a simple fix? Is it being looked into?
KD Johnson 6 Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Highlight doesn't print - it distrorts the line spacing so that part of the next line disappearsUnderline creates strikethoughStrikethrough creates an overline These are all print rendering issues - it doesn't matter which print driver I use or whether I print to PDF.As you say, this has been going on for a long time - I'm on 5.91 - Windows 7
KD8TZC 2 Posted February 1, 2016 Author Posted February 1, 2016 Just checking if anyone has a solution to this?
luker 1 Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Not sure if this helps, but have you tried printing from the web? I was having trouble getting highlighting to print. In the end, I printed from the Web App and selected to print background images. Highlighting is a background. My highlights are printing now!
RDCushing1 3 Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Is there an intent by Evernote to get the Windows Desktop to print properly with highlighting and underlining--ever? I'm a paying user, not just the free version. Printing seems to be a pretty important function of a note-taking environment, is it not?
Ceolmhor 0 Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 I came here today to find out how to print with highlights, as that's an important function to me. Alas, I found this thread indicating that lots of us want this function, but it isn't being provided. I'd like to add my vote (also a paying user) for getting this functionality working. Otherwise, I love Evernote, but a major use I intended isn't going to work without this functionality. I've invested several hours in preparation, and am now at a loss. It never occurred to me that Evenote wouldn't print the notes as I see them.
Perrybucsdad 1 Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 I finally got sick of waiting for this to be fixed and went over to the "dark side" and am now using OneNote. Much happier that it can do what I need it to. Really sad I had to ditch Evernote, but I can't wait for them to get this fixed.
RDCushing1 3 Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 Great. But do you have an easy way to move 6,000+ notes from Evernote to OneNote?

A quick Google search will reveal the answer. Lifehacker had an article back on 4.8.2014 that worked perfectly for me. I didn't have 6000 notes, but I had over 1000 and they all came over. It was a little work but well worth it the end.
kem528 1 Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 A kluge approach is to select Edit/Select All from the note's menu, then Control-C (copy command for Windows). Then open a blank Word doc, then Control-V (paste command for Windows). Then print the Word doc and it will have the highlights. When you paste, I think you need to be sure to select the option to keep the source formatting if you right-click instead of Ctl-V. This worked for me. I assume it works for Mac (revising commands as appropriate), but didn't try it.
Ex Employees Austin G 527 Posted May 31, 2017 Ex Employees Posted May 31, 2017 We're aware of the print issues, and working on a fix. I will post here when I have an update. Thanks for the reports.
KD Johnson 6 Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Blimey! This issue is at least two years old - I am glad you finally noticed it. A resolution would be welcome.

A great temporary solution but we're not supposed to be paying for a Premium account and to be compensating with other services.
MrEvernoteMcGee 11 Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 I went into Evernote this morning and printed a note I have that contains highlights and oddly enough, I found myself here. Has there been any news on this front? Seems to be a fairly basic feature - things printing the same as they appear on the screen. It concerns me that threads from 2015 mention this issue and here we are in late 2017 with no apparent fix aside from "paste it into Word and print from there".
RKane 7 Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 Has this been resolved? I'm painfully wasting time trying to get my note to print as I see it in Evernote (desktop). Is this seriously not possible? If so, why not? I would think this is a basic feature. I too am a premium subscriber (not that that should make a difference in this instance).

If you want to try the beta, now you can install it from here: Please note the known issues with the beta before updating. "Since this required quite a bit of under-the-hood work, not everything is working quite right yet - you'll notice find and replace isn't hooked up, and some edge cases around drag & drop of files in and out of a note may not work."
RDCushing1 3 Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 It's too late for me! I waited, and waited, and waited; and as much as I like Evernote, I'm switching to OneNote and never looking back. Sorry.
lorilr 0 Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 Well it worked. After two years, you can print notes with highlights. I'm not sure why I even tried to search the help again today. I'm a premium user with the beta thing turned on and this update didn't show. Anyway I printed a page with highlights.
RDCushing1 3 Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 Sorry. It's too late for me. I waited (patiently) way to long to get this fundamental capability working. I have moved to Microsoft OneNote and I won't be turning back.

RDCushing1 3 Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 DTLow: We put up with this issue not being fixed for far, far, far longer than I've hung around to say my goodbyes. Wouldn't you confess that's true?
HLRude 2 Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 Austin, per your October post can you please let us know the status of the fix you referenced in the beta???
KD Johnson 6 Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 I note that these issues - at least those of satisfactorily printing the underlines and italics (I haven't tried the highlights) are now fixed (in the recent betas that I am using)
HLRude 2 Posted January 6, 2018 Posted January 6, 2018 Hi KD, thanks! I actually went in and checked for new software releases and the new release fixed my printing problems. I guess the beta went live?? I am so happy it finally works - it was driving me nuts!
