Reorganizing issue - Tag deletion - need strategies

I'm trying to reorganize my filing... I use tags a lot and have found that I now have an unruly list. As I try to change tags, remove tags, etc I am having major issues.

Process:

• select multiple notes;
• in the "# notes selected" I am working in the tag entry section
• issue
  • Sometimes I can't add tags (I type and my entry seems to show up briefly, then disappear)
  • Sometimes I accidentally press delete and it removes the tag - and there is no redo, or revert function - which leads to lost work that I can not recover!

1. Don't press your delete key - use your mouse instead

2. When you accidentally press the delete key - the notes are sent to the Trash notebook (last notebook). The deleted notes can be restored.

I use a lot of tags - up to 1,400 right now.

To keep them organized, I nest them and use 3 character prefixes.
