TuckerResearch 0 Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 I've been using Scannable for awhile now. I've been able to e-mail my scans as pdfs directly from the app using Gmail until today, after the latest update of the app. Now, even though I have the default setting as pdf, I can only use Apple's horrible e-mail app to send pdfs, when I try to use Gmail, it sends them as pngs. No matter what I try. What gives?!?!?
Evernote Expert gazumped 12,630 Posted September 21, 2015 Evernote Expert Posted September 21, 2015 Hi. It appears something changed - support request required here I think, but first try uninstalling and restart/ reinstalling the app. Make sure you back up any saved files.
PeeJayTee 99 Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 Sorry for the problems - there is an issue in the latest version of Scannable that does make this process a little more cumbersome. Instead of choosing Send>>Share>>Gmail, try Send>>Share>>Open In...>>Gmail. That should send the file as a PDF. This is definitely NOT our intention, and we should have this issue resolved in the next version of Scannable. Thank you for your understanding!P.J. 2
TuckerResearch 0 Posted September 22, 2015 Author Posted September 22, 2015 That worked. So it's an acceptable workaround. Thanks for the solution, noting the issue, and promising to fix it. (Scannable is still the best free scanning app there is, I think.)
PeeJayTee 99 Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 I'm glad it worked... Sorry again for the trouble.
gaedfly 1 Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Perfect, that's a great workaround. Thanks for the quick reply and for resolving my issue.
Solution kgg 75 Posted November 23, 2015 Solution Posted November 23, 2015 This issue should be resolved in Scannable 2.1
sunriseat1770 0 Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 looks like this issue is now occurring again with the latest version?
LG613 0 Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 Hi, I am having the same issue. I used to be able to send PDFs with Gmail without any issues, but now on both of my devices I am receiving an error that says Failed to Send. I tried both ways of share as well as open in, and both won't work.

However if click 'SAVE' it will save to Camera Roll as a PNG (even though have chosen file type on scan as PDF).
