Graham H 0
Why is installing updates so painful? Every time Evernote updates (which is frequent for a Windows app), I have to sit through the most tedious update process. It takes AGES and has a staggering lack of feedback. Right now it's sitting at zero saying "Installing" - the progress bar doesn't move. Is it dead? I don't know. And this is a fresh install I'm having to do because I stopped the update after an hour of it saying "removing old versions" (and sitting at zero progress). It appears now to have left itself in an uninstalled state. Always I have to quit IE and Outlook, meaning I can't work while it updates. Is there a way I can install it without the IE and Outlook plugins, so I can keep them running while EN updates? Running on Windows 7. Product great. Installer and updater, atrocious. Graham. Level 5* CalS 5,307 Posted September 15, 2015 Level 5* Share Posted September 15, 2015 Typical suggestion when this occurs is to use Revo Uninstaller or the equivalent to fully remove EN from your system. Then download the current version of EN and install it. Wipe the slate clean so to speak. Never a bad idea to back up your data base beforehand. Link to comment
