How to display folders instead of lists

Hi I have used evernote some time but I am trying to put it in some sort of order.

 

When I look at tutorials on how to use it, everyone seems to have pictures of folders, displaying there folders, but if I select folder view I get a list of the folers I have not the icons.

 

is there somthing I am doing wrong.
