nayooti 0
I know it sounds silly. While other software ingeniers seem to be undersupport their product, Evernote seem to oversupport the product, I'd really prefer to get prompted for major updates only. Virtually every time I open Evernote, I get prompted for an update. Even when the update-process only takes a minute, it keeps me from having a quick-look into my last recent notebook or so, specially for someone like me, who cross-uses Evernote on Windows, Mac, and Android-Devices. For an average user like me, Evernote has what it needs and all the minor updates actually don't make a difference. Link to post
Level 5* gazumped 7,867 Posted July 6, 2015 Level 5* Share Posted July 6, 2015 Hi. Always good to know what you're using, and whether you're on a mobile or a desktop. If you're using a mobile, then updates to all apps seem to happen pretty frequently, and mostly in the background unless something breaks. If you're on a desktop you'll have something in Options or Preferences that says "automatically check for updates". Switch that off and you should get fewer messages, though you'll need to remember to check manually to see whether there's anything going on. Link to post
Level 5 jbenson2 2,118 Posted July 6, 2015 Level 5 Share Posted July 6, 2015 My process for Evernote Windows updates is to wait for 30 days before accepting it. I create a reminder note with the new version #. I prefer to let other users find the bugs first. I watch this forum for problems that might arise. If there are just a few minor issues, I will update at the 30-day reminder point. The occasional reminder to update can be closed with one click. It is insignificant to me, so I just click and close it down. Link to post
larrycz 3
In Mac version 6.5 a bar with "new updates available" is displayed over the top of the window despite checking for updates disabled in preferences Is that a bug? Link to post

Mac seems to be up to 6.7 though, so you may have missed a memo somewhere... https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/94433-evernote-for-mac-65-released/#comment-398225https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/96591-evernote-for-mac-v67-released-official-thread/#comment-409392 Link to post

I recommend updating your version of Evernote for Mac so you don't miss out on the latest features and issue fixes! You can find more information here: How to Update and Install Evernote Link to post
