teerex 0
I am using Evernote on two computers, a laptop running windows 8 and a desktop running windows 7.I've figured out to "Encrypt" parts of my notes by highlighting, right clicking and choosing "Encrypt Selected Text". However, when I try to "Show encrypted text" using the desktop computer, it says that the passphrase I enter is incorrect. At first I thought perhaps I made some typos or forgot my passphrase, but the passphrase works fine on the laptop and also the Evernote web interface... Is this a bug? or am I doing something wrong? Thanks for your help! Link to comment

So, you might try this on both PCs (starting with the PC that worked OK previously:Do a manual sync Sign out of EN Win Restart your PC Sign back in to EN Win sync test the passphrase.Good luck, and let us know how it goes. teerex 0
Nope, I still get "Incorrect passphrase. Try again" Link to comment
SebR 146
Weird! Do you use different language on those computers? (I think about an encoding issue but it's just a wild guess) Link to comment

Create a new Note and encrypt some text in it using the same passcode you used above. Sync on both PCs and test decrypt. If that fails, repeat but with a different passcode. Link to comment
teerex 0
Both computers are in english. I tried making a new note with a different password... still "incorrect"... This is really weird! Link to comment
Level 5* JMichaelTX 4,111 Posted June 22, 2015 Level 5* Share Posted June 22, 2015 This is definitely looking like a bug. A number of other users have reported the same issue.See Encrypt text doesn't work between Windows & Mac I'd suggest that you submit a formal bug report to provide details to support a quick fix. Submit a BUG report via an EN Support Ticket. In the Support Form, select "Report a bug", and start the Ticket Title with "BUG: " to make it clear. Reporting a bug should be available to all users, including Free Account owners. Other Ticket types available to Free users are "Data Loss", "Crash", & "Sync Issue". Link to comment
