Error: CANT_CREATE_TABLE

Good morning,

 

I've recieved an error each time I try to open Evernote Desktop. I've logged out and back in, reinstalled evernote, and am still getting the error. I verified that the path is available. 

Anything else I should do?

The dialog box says:

 

'Could not open Evernote database in "C:\Users\foo\AppData\Local\Evernote\Evernote\Databases\foo.exb".

 

Error: CANT_CREATE_TABLE

 

Please verify that the path is accessible and try again.'

This seems to be a windows error occasionally thrown up after an update..  the trick apparently is:

• exit Evernote (if it didn't already crash)
  
• backup your database
  
• rename the database folder
  
• restart Evernote and log in - your database will rebuild from the server.
  

NB any unsynced notes and local notebooks will be lost if you do this.  If that's a problem,  please raise a support ticket:  choose "login/account access issue" in the first dropdown after logging in here> https://www.evernote.com/SupportLogin.action  Premium / Business users also have access to a Chat option (7am-7pm PST weekdays) - click 'continue' on the support page after logging in.

 

(If Evernote still runs normally,  you can export unsynced notes and local notebooks to ENEX files and re-import them later)

I might be a moron, but can someone tell me how i rename the database folder, and where i find it?

Go to Tools - Options - General and the data base folder location is displayed there.

I had the same error and simply restarted the computer... it worked
