Wrong user being attributed to edits in shared notebook

Recommended Posts

I'm a long-time premium user, with several shared notebooks for different projects.

The problem: when I (User A) make edits to a notebook that I'm sharing with User B, I get the notification that "User B made an edit to the notebook just now." Even when User B isn't online or in the notebook.

The question: Why are changes being attributed to the OTHER user when I'm the one in the notebook making the changes. This isn't just a one-off. With each shared notebook, any changes I make are in fact attributed to the other person the notebook is shared with.

Any help or insight would be much appreciated.

Hi.  It sounds like Evernote is confused between your two identities - do you use similar email addresses / switch between the two frequently on desktop?  You could try using the less busy account strictly via a browser maybe...

@Satchmo:

The Sharing feature seems to be in a constant state of change since it has been incorporated as part of Work Chat, so it is hard to know what is a bug vs a design flaw, vs a "feature".

But if you are consistently seeing this behavior, you may want to submit a BUG report.

Submit a BUG report via an EN Support Ticket. In the Support Form, select "Report a bug", and start the Ticket Title with "BUG:  " to make it clear.  Reporting a bug should be available to all users, including Free Account owners.  Other Ticket types available to Free users are "Data Loss", "Crash", & "Sync Issue".
