Cannot change email address

In order to change my registered Email address I had to enter twice my password

THis is strange since I am  already logged in to my account

But going thru the strange procedure, it finally says "Email already in use"but I don't know what it is talking about, since the new Email is not registered anywhere.

I have read some similar Forum questions. It seems that only Premium members can change email address.
Fine, nice, beautifull... but why does EN not inform - why does it let the user do a Sisyphus work?

I would like to see a list comparing the free and the Premium versions, so that I am not in the future avoid new frustrations with EN.
EN is tricky with a steep learning curve.

Hi.  If you have a look in Evernote's Knowledge Base pages it's not exactly a secret..

 

Go to the 'Security Summary' page in your Account Settings - https://www.evernote.com/secure/SecuritySettings.action

Select Change Email beneath the email shown in the 'Email Address' section

Enter your password to authorize changes and enter a new email address. A confirmation email will be sent to this new address to wait for your response. Once they've received your that, the change will be enabled.

Select Change email to save changes and to return to Account Settings page.

The 'already is use' tag means that email has already been used to set up an Evernote account - maybe this one?
