Why Evernote accounts can't be deleted?

You can't delete your Evernote account, you can only deactivate it. This is alarming and I question the reliability of the Evernote Corporation. Why it is required to store my data?

Please let us to remove our accounts completely. At the moment I can't trust Evernote.

Delete all your notes and then stop using the account. What is the functional

difference between doing that and deleting the account to delete all the 

information in the account (other than taking an extra step)? Or am I missing

something in your concern?

delete the notes, empty the trash, make sure it has synced, and evernote will eventually delete your data. it takes about a year, as i recall, for all data to get purged. contact customer support (if you are a premium member?) to delete the account.
