Did you sync your changes from the desktop to the server, then sync your mobile to collect those changes before you started editing? Best process is to sync before and after editing on any device, and don't edit on two devices interchangeably - edit on one, then move to the other for a while if you need to... Link to comment

taqiyuddin 0 Posted January 29, 2015 Author Share Posted January 29, 2015 I'm using a samsung galaxy s3. I think i didn't sync my phone before I edit the note. I was in a hurry to jot down some an information i received and didn't check that that the note was updated or not. so when i fired up my desktop evernote, it downloaded the newest version, which was the one in the phone. thus causing my desktop version to be lost. i wish i could retrieve or revert my note to an older version, but evernote do not have versioning right? I will try to always sync my phone first before editting my notes. but that means i am relying on my very human ability to catch myself before i edit notes on the go. we humans makes errors and i wish evernote could update the mobile app to force update whenever a note is being editted. therefore removing the reliance on human action to ensure integrity. Or at least make sure that the notes appear in the conflict notebook. Link to comment
Level 5* gazumped 9,562 Posted January 29, 2015 Level 5* Share Posted January 29, 2015 If you are a premium subscriber, then Evernote does have Note History - you might be able to step your note back to see the previous version and copy/ paste it into the newer text to get a complete copy. As to automatic syncing - Evernote is better now than it used to be in protecting data, but ultimately no software can completely protect against a user error - frequent backups are an added protection against problems... monica67 1 Posted February 4, 2015 Share Posted February 4, 2015 Exactly the same thing happened to me, and I'm also on a Samsung Galaxy 3. So is the verdict just that I've lost my notes?! I can't believe there's no way to go back and retrieve what should have been synced anyway!!! It should at least have the decency to create a Conflicted note. Link to comment
Level 5* gazumped 9,562 Posted February 4, 2015 Level 5* Share Posted February 4, 2015 Never say never.. but if the information on your phone didn't get to Evernote's servers, it may still be in your phone's memory - if you can find it. No expertise here on where that might be or how it might be recoverable. Conflicted notes only arise if the server has two versions of a note and can't decide which is the most recent... What was invisible before became visible, but I still can't copy it and repost it in the note. The text is invisible on both my Galaxy S5 and my Mac desktop. Both are synced together.
