Sharing notes to appear in main list

I have created a note on my android device and shared it to my friend who has an iphone.

 

It seems like they can only look at the shared note if they go into their chat section.

 

They want it to appear amongst all their other notes. Is this possible?

 

The note I created to share is just in with all my other notes.

 

Is this by design or am I doing something wrong?
