Desktop icon changes and then app disappears in Mac app-Yosemite

Would love some help -- I've had this problem several times: randomly, it seems, I will notice that the Evernote icon in the doc will have changed to a white square with the App store logo in yellow (image attached); clicking on it will only result in the icon jumping up and down as if was going to open; nothing happens. I've tried opening it several other ways, same thing.

I've searched Help topics before and for similar issues, I have deleted the app and downloaded it again from the site (where I originally downloaded it) and it works fine for a while and then the same issue happens all over again.

I'm almost positive that this only started after I have upgraded to yosemite. Anyone else have this problem? Would be so appreciative for any help -- this is quite frustrating, I depend heavily on Evernote!

Much thanks.

Hmmn.  Not a Yosemite user though I'm afraid - we'll have to wait for someone more knowledgeable to turn up to see if there are more helpful suggestions...

I've had the same issue with the icon changing to a generic app graphic (as per above), and being unable to access my account.

I haven't yet upgraded to Yosemite but the problem started after I upgraded Evernote (to latest).

Seems odd that only two people (so far) have experienced this though..  something so basic should have annoyed a lot of folks if it was a bug..

I deleted and then re-installed Evernote yesterday, and it seemed to fix the problem.

And I updated the OS afterwards to Yosemite and it's still working ok... fingers crossed it stays that way.

Hi -- thanks for the posts. I'm also curious that more don't seem to be having this same problem. Yes, fingers crossed it stays that way -- for me, it did not (I have deleted and re-installed twice -- maybe third time's the charm?)

Keep in touch! Will let you know if I figure something out.

Thanks again.
