Use Evernote on ipad air 2 in sync with Evernote Touch on Windows 8?

Recommended Posts

I just installed Evernote on my Ipad Air 2, but I also have a touch screen laptop with Windows 8. It appears that Evernote Touch is the version I can install on my laptop. Will Evernote and Evernote Touch work similarly, and can I sync them so I can use the app on both devices? (Evernote Touch looked like it had a different interface) Thanks!

Hi.  Evernote Touch has a reduced feature set and a different interface,  so will look different and probably perform less well than the iPad.  (If your laptop has a keyboard you should also be able to install Evernote desktop,  which is the full-service version.)  Log in to both apps with the same user details and you will see the same information on both.  Make sure you sync Evernote both before and after you make any changes on each device and they should stay in sync.

Evernote Touch looks pretty when you have a lot of pretty images in your notes, especially since your notes are all presented to you in Card View... but just as @Gazumped said, it has a reduced feature set. It's not easy to search for your stuff. Not for power users... nor semi-power users... nor anyone searching amongs thousands (or just hundreds) of notes... but I could envisage someone using it as a photo gallery while browsing through a specific notebook set up for such a purpose. Your best bet is the Windows desktop version, for sure. I have tinkered quite a bit with Windows Touch... and it's quite a letdown in terms of functionality. There is potential there. Just needs to be developed some more.
