Software support for older ScanSnap scanners?

I have an older Fujitsu ScanSnap S510M that works fine. I'm not about to buy a new one just to get Evernote support. Is there any support offered for these older models? 

 

From what I have been able to determine, there isn't a lot of difference in the APIs for the different models. For example, Fujitsu's newest ScanSnap driver has been reported to work on older models even though Fujitsu doesn't promote this capability.

Evernote has stated that most the Evernote-specific functions are available ONLY for the Evernote-branded scanner.  It's a sales gimmick.

 

But, IMO, that really doesn't matter or slow you down.

I've used several of the ScanSnap scanners, and they all work great without the Evernote stuff.

In fact, I prefer to scan to a folder where I can rename the file PRIOR to import into Evernote.

I also like to OCR the file prior to import.
