Updates don't

I regularly get messages from Evernote saying that there is a new version and suggesting I download it.  It should all be automatic I'd think.  But every time I try, the download stops at about 75% and eventually fails or just stops without failure message.  How do I get the downloads to update me?

On desktop (Windows) under Tools > Options, you get the following box:

 

I have it automatically check for updates. But if you want it to automatically update to a pre-release, you would check the 2nd box. You might want to think carefully about auto-installing the pre-releases... but AFAIK, that's the only way to be automatically updated.
